Surely one of the little secrets of South-East Asia, the Bacuit Archipelago is relatively little-known but oh-so-very beautiful. The main reason most people visit El Nido is to go island-hopping around the enchanting Bacuit archipelago, 45 limestone outcrops riddled with karst cliffs, sinkholes and idyllic lagoons.

Landsort is a beautiful place to visit all year round. It is the southernmost island in the Stockholm archipelago. The island's name is Öja, in daily speech also called Landsort. Here are the open sea, beautiful cliffs around the island and the picturesque village with the characteristic lighthouse nearby.

About 40 people live on the island, with Sweden’s oldest preserved beacon and a beautiful natural environment. Öja is about 5 km long and 600 metres wide at its widest point.

The La Maddalena Archipelago is a group of islands northeast of the Italian island of Sardinia.

The archipelago consists of seven main islands and numerous smaller islands and is located in the Strait of Bonifacio between Corsica and Sardinia, Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast).

The island group is loved by sailors because of the pristine nature and the emerald green waters. The archipelago was housed in 1994 in the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park.

The archipelago was already inhabited in ancient times. In Roman times the islands were known as "Cunicularia".

Visiting the larger islands in the archipelago is easy all year round, but during winter period the routes depend on the ice conditions. Several companies have regular routes.

The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe the Elder.

In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm.

It was not until 1912 that it allowed houses to be built from materials other than wood, giving the town a distinctive appearance.
