The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe the Elder.
In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm.
It was not until 1912 that it allowed houses to be built from materials other than wood, giving the town a distinctive appearance.

Kristinehamns archipelago.
I was thinking of my grandfather who passed away a few years ago. He spent his whole life in Kristinehamn wich is a rather small city in the middle of nowhere. He never went to school because he had to work to support his family. So without an education he made the best out of his life. When he retired at the age of 68 he was chief psychologist at Maribergs hospital for the mentally ill. I have never met anyone who had the same ability to talk to anyone, anywhere about anything. He could make people open up in a very special way.
I miss him.
The quote was something he said to me when i first started school.

Moonlit summer night on the island of Korpo in the Finnish archipelago.
I was the only one still awake, taking in the stillness of night. Staring out over the bay and the jetty. And just as I started fiddling with the camera, a full moon unexpectedly showed up from behind the clouds, glittering in the sea.
(Pretty much a jpeg straight out of the camera, but I brought it into Lightroom to remove the small red light of a telecom mast in the distance. It looked distractingly like a "hot pixel" or something. But now I'm not sure if that was really necessary.)

I decided to replace it, since the water in the background detracts from the sunlight reflections on the ice - IMHO. Unfortunately, now the crop seems a bit too tight at the top (cut grass). Yet I prefer this version... still a tough decision.

Hello, hope that you are well. We had an amazing time in Sweden and spent a day at the Archipelagos a couple of hours away from Gothenberg. No cars are allowed on the Islands and the only way to get around is by foot or bicycle, or course we took the easy option to see as much as we could in a day.
Expensive, but oh so worth it. I will catch up with your streams this evening.
