One of the lesser known but gorgeous beaches in El Nido, Papaya Beach is situated just adjacent to the more popular Seven Commandos Beach.

Technically not a great shot, but I had to snap this very angry looking sky (and the strange cloud of rainfall(?) over the water---Firth of Clyde), towards Arran just as the sun was setting. I grabbed this shot from an open window upstairs...and then quickly battened down the hatches before the weather arrived!
On Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. It's awesome and a bit scary to be up in the clouds so to speak and watching a storm approach with accompanying thunderings. Have a great weekend everyone!
Deadhorse Point State Park has many vantage points to view this amazing landscape. Below you can see the Colorado River winding through the desert as a storm approaches.

Jasper deviated from the norm and tried a flanking approach to entice me to play. It worked. Much chasing and growling and frivolity ensued
The rising sun tries in vain to break through the clouds as St. Maries River Railroad’s turn to Plummer rolls over arcing track through Shepherd Road grade crossing on September 27, 2021. The Geeps cant into a curve that once hosted time freights and Hiawathas from the Milwaukee Road.
A few weeks back i walked up part of the Coventry Canal to Hawkesbury Junction where it joins the Oxford Canal .The narrow boat in shot is coming through a very shallow lock from the Oxford Canal into Hawkesbury Junction and on to the Coventry Canal
night arrives
unannounced
in a black limo
a silent presence
who follows you
into your room
closes the door
points to the book
of days on your desk
dark finger a shadow
across your past
which disappears
with each turning
of the page until
there are no more
leaves to fall, no
birds to sing
your faint praises
only this moment
and maybe
mercifully
the next

An aerial view showing the irregular terrain in the vicinity of Iceland's Keflavik International Airport
Approaching Nepal from the south-east by air, with the high peaks of the Himalayas visible in the distance. This photo was uploaded previously as a black and white because I didn't know how to eliminate the reflection and blurriness from the aircraft window; all I could do was darken the shot and make it monochrome. Now, finally, I've been able to make a colour rendition that looks pretty good!

I photographed this springbok (antidorcas marsupialis) as it was walking slowly towards me down a sandy track in the Kalahari desert, Botswana. This was a particularly arid area but these animals get the water they need from eating shrubs and succulents. They can live without actually drinking water for years, though they take advantage of waterholes where available.
