A look back at the day before the Retrobus Running Day that took place in and around Winchester on Sunday 19th March 2017.
The event was organised by the Hampshire Bus Preservation team who had use of the since-demolished depot building within the bus station site.
Six of the vehicles to be seen at the excellent running day were present on the Saturday. These were:

EAP984V, Bristol VRT / ECW, Southdown.
HDL, VMO, GNJ, EAP are owned by HBP although EAP has since moved on.
These shots capture proceedings on the Saturday as the team prepared their vehicles for the running day.

After climbing up the narrow, twisting streets of Pyrgos (Santorini, Greece) I found the pathway to this church which had stood out when seen from below. Edited with Lightroom3 and Topaz Adjust 4.
Yesterday was my last full day in America. It began in Brooklyn, where Peter had taken us so that he could visit his grandmother; while I rested in a pizza parlor, sipping a ginger ale and reading the Scarlet Letter - I bought a 6.95 special pizza, by the way, which Peter and I both enjoyed in the car. Later, we briefly partook in the festivities of a verily authentic Italian cafe, which Peter so desired to show me and in which elderly men had gathered to watch football (Juventus versus Manchester United), to smoke and to kick up the banter typical of these sagacious, cultural folk. In the evening, Mark and I met at Starbucks, to play chess and to test, once more, our respective price sensitives against an armada of niched coffees. I drank the lemonade.

Shot on a Pentax ESII, SMC Takumar 105/2.8 and Agfa Optima 100 film.
The Optima is over a decade expired - best before 1999 - but seems to have stood up well.

Here we see the RPSI Spare Link Rail tour, worked by ex-DSER 2-6-0 loco No.461, passing through Clonsilla Station as it approaches the recently re-opened branch to Dunboyne. You can see the green signal and the route indicator set for the branch in the distance.
As well as shooting stills I also shot video which you can see on my YouTube channel.

This is Fifi, the only airworthy B-29 Superfortress in the world. The B-29 was designed in 1939 and flown late in WWII. This is the platform that delivered both atomic bombs that were used on Japan. Fifi never saw combat in WWII, but was used by the Air Force in post war activities. Transferred to the Navy, Fifi was used at China Lake range as a target. Rescued by the Commemorative Air Force in 1974, she is one of dozens of B-29's still in existance, and the only one flying. She is impressive!
Here Fifi makes her final approach into Fayetteville's Drake Field. One can only guess at the thoughts of the drivers on US-71 as this classic bird roars over them.
Anflug auf Klagenfurt
A few weeks ago, I had the chance to take a flight in the cockpit of an Airbus A319 on the jumpseat. It was a rotation from Cologne/Bonn (Germany) to Klagenfurt (Austria) and return. For known reasons, please do not ask any questions to date, time, airline, pilot or registration of the aircraft. The Date shown by flickr is changed and the plate with the data of the aircraft is disguised .
