Into morning

For the night has been unkind

Take me to a

Place so holy

That I can wash this from my mind

The memory of choosing not to fight"

Always we hope

someone else has the answer.

some other place will be better,

some other time it will all turn out.

This is it.

no one else has the answer.

no other place will be better,

and it has already turned out.

At the centre of your being

you have the answer;

you know who you are

and you know what you want.

There is no need

to run outside

Nor to peer from a window.

Rather abide at the centre of your being;

for the more you leave it, the less you learn.

"The Regiment of Trees (2017-2019)

Carved by Patrick Walls from Hill House Edge sandstone, The Regiment of Trees commemorates Lord Kitchener’s inspection of troops – all from the 2nd London Division of Kitchener’s New Army – on Epsom Downs in January 2015. Twelve figures stand among a mix of native broadleaf trees, evoking stories of the harsh blizzard conditions in which the 20,000 volunteer soldiers waited for Kitchener’s arrival, some not even fully kitted out. Together, the sculptures and trees create a living tribute to the civilian men who answered the call to join Kitchener’s New Army." - The Woodland Trust

Sometimes, a stranger approaches me before I approach her, just as in this case with Jade; the woman with the camera.

While I was interviewing Sebastian, my previous stranger, Jade approached and said: "I've heard your question about the message to the world and I have my answer to that."

A few minutes later we were engaged in a very long conversation, getting to know each other.

"I've been spreading my message for a long time so I'll share it with you," Jade said.

"Go green, use less plastic, less pollution, more life. Nature is so generous with us, I wish people would treat Nature in a kind way and not consume so much plastic."

Jade, 34y/o, has moved from Vietnam to Finland about six years ago. She has met her Finnish husband online and after they got to know each other--he visited her village and stayed for four months there: "escaping the Finnish winter," they decided to get married and build a family.

They have a five year old son whom Jade is very proud of.

"He is my inspiration and the reason I've decided to become a full-time photographer."

However, her journey took her first to law school in Vietnam where she studied law for seven years and was later employed in a law firm.

She never really liked to work as a lawyer, but she liked to teach and thought she would learn to become a teacher.

After a while she knew that it wasn't really her call.

"I like to do creative work," she said, "I love carpentry".

As the story unfolded, I found out that Jade's husband is a professional carpenter.

"Having carpentered our kitchen, he said that he has built the heart of our home."

Naturally, the kitchen is the heart of any home, I think.

Life takes us on different journeys and when Jade moved to Finland, she worked at first as a barista in a café.

Photography came into her life when her son was born. She took many photos of him and published them on her social medias. www.facebook.com/gin.ply

www.instagram.com/jadeylitalophotography/

As a result she got many compliments and positive feedback for her work. But it was not until her son became four and a half years old and told his mommy how proud he was of her photography, that she made the change.

"If he could believe in me, I had to believe that I could do it, too."

It is not easy to quit a job that pays you a salary on regular basis, but when Jade had to refuse a photo session with a client--because she didn't have time--she decided to quit for good and to devote herself to photography.

When I asked what she would advise her younger self, Jade said: "Listen to yourself, ask what do you really want to do in life, follow it and believe you can do it!"

"Life to me means love, joy, pain and sorrow. As long as I can feel those emotions, I still love life.

"There are many things that inspire me; the human heart, human mindset, nature, art, myself ..."

"What do you love about yourself, Jade?"

"I love my body with all its cells, parts and my soul. I love the way I always feel thankful and appreciate everything that I have."

Our conversation went on and on and when we parted we hugged--now that the restrictions were lifted--and we wished each other well and the hope that we might meet again.

I have taken several portraits of Jade, but she asked me to publish only these two. "Maybe I'll change my mind later; I'll let you know", she said.

Your wish is my command, as the saying goes. Thanks, Jade, it was really wonderful to connect and thanks for the cookie, too. www.flickr.com/photos/timelessriver/51543153429/in/photos...

Mind Games

We're playing those mind games together,

Pushing barriers, planting seeds,

Playing the mind guerilla,

Chanting the Mantra peace on earth,

We all been playing mind games forever,

Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil.

Doing the mind guerilla,

Some call it the search for the grail,

Love is the answer and you know that for sure,

Love is flower you got to let it, you got to let it grow,

So keep on playing those mind games together,

Faith in the future outta the now,

You just can't beat on those mind guerillas,

Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind,

Yeah we're playing those mind games forever,

Projecting our images in space and in time,

Yes is the answer and you know that for sure,

Yes is the surrender you got to let it, you got to let it go,

So keep on playing those mind games together,

Doing the ritual dance in the sun,

Millions of mind guerrillas,

Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel,

Keep on playing those mind games forever,

Raising the spirit of peace and love, not war,

(I want you to make love, not war, I know you've heard it before)

A lot of people talk about climate change. It has implications for our very way of life. But what should be driving all of this care is a concern for the people who are suffering. In many cases, people who deserve it least. These are the people that the Red Cross Red Crescent work with in Bangladesh and around the world.

These children might inherit a world worse than the one we were born into. In twenty years, I do not want to have to face them again, and say I did nothing to try to prevent that.

... To yesterday's Wacky Wednesday.

When I went to buy a new bucket last month, they only had them with the mop attachment available.

As I use a floor cloth and stiff bristled broom to wash the floors the extra part isn't used and is usually under the kitchen sink.

...to the question : " DO you ever feel like just jumping in the pools as you clean those patios outside in your pantyhose and dress and slip and makeup?"

A: Yes. But... when the water is steaming because the air is that much colder - it is VERY hard to get back out if you choose that ill advised option.

The years go by but still I heed the call,

In the depths of my dreams it echoes,

Stirring the wildness within my soul,

The never-ending siren song of surf.

I long for liquid diamonds on my face,

To gaze on wind blown white horses,

Lie like a lover on sensuous waves,

Glide silently on the face of chance.

What is this wild, innocent joy I feel?

Do I belong between sea and sky?

I ride the curving waves in ecstasy,

The song of surf singing in my veins!

A Late Answer

Tang Jie served the Lord zealously for nearly forty years and expected the return of the Lord Jesus eagerly all the time. Having given up her family and her career, she established many house meeting places. As the work of the Holy Spirit shifted, the church became desolate gradually. She tried every possible way to revive it, but in vain. During this process, God’s gospel of the last days came upon her church. To “defend the Lord’s way,” she wrote a pamphlet to fabricate rumors against, slander, and attack Almighty God’s work of the last days, and sealed her church to hinder the believers from listening to the messages. However, increasingly more believers returned to Almighty God. At the end of her tether, Tang Jie fell into misery, confusion, and helplessness….

The Signing of the Bear Fort Treaty

“During the Blood Plague the Kingdom of Helmshold was looking for help from beyond its borders. Greenmark was the only one who actually answered the call for help, we have to abide by the agreement we made, lord Prince,” the Magister explained as Derrock walked the stairs to the top of the fort. Derrock nodded but was very much suspicious of it all. The Bear Fort stood before them, sturdy and absolute.

He had only just taken on the duties of Heir Apparent and it was a lot more work than he had thought it would be. The Fort stood on the Helmshold side of the Hulburn and the Greenmarkian delegates had already arrived. Which Derrock found odd. The thing that bothered him most was that it was the Archmage who had drawn up the treaty and the Greenmarkians were all too eager to sign it. It just did not make sense.

The Greenmarkian had been hostile to Helmshold for decades, centuries even. What did they have to gain with this treaty? Derrock had read the treaty and nothing in the words seemed to suggest anything malicious or disadvantageous.

“What is on your mind?” Aegevar asked and interrupted his thoughts. The Magister had left them, as they reached the upper terrace of the fort. He saw a servant wetting the blade of one of the knights of the fort.

“I… I’m not sure,” Derrock replied as they walked to the battlements of the fort.

“Something about this seems fishy to you?” his southern friend pried. “Well yes, obviously. The signing of a treaty has never been so easy. All of the articles were agreed upon without contestation. Nobody wanted to amend anything and the only advantages that this treaty holds is towards Helmshold. Something else must be going on and I just cannot put my finger on what.”

He looked down from the battlements and saw the Greenmarkians look up at him, with an almost conspiratorial smirk on their faces. No, he did not trust this at all.
