This month, our second year animation studio are entering The 11 Second Club, a regular monthly character animation competition by which ambitious animators practice their skills and obtain the work they do observed. Animators from around the globe participate, animating a personality speaking a type of dialogue, that is provided each month through the club.

Through the competition, participants can share their progress with each other and critique each other peoples work - much like inside a real animation studio. In the finish from the month, all of the participants election for that submission they think about the perfect for that month - therefore it is a really democratic process. The thought of the 11 Second Club is "to provide animators an opportunity to practice their skills inside a fun, challenging atmosphere".

As always, a great animation studio imagines the scene within their mind before beginning out. What's the scene about? What's happening? Concept it as being a film inside your mind. Then, do thumbnail sketches, and possibly film yourself acting the scene. You are able to import the footage to your shot and employ a picture plane to assist make your key poses.

Thumbnails sketches assist you to plan your animation

After you have done your preparation, and also you know precisely that which you expect to do, execute the program. Create character poses in Maya on walked curves, and obtain the blocking from the shot right. Get feedback, tweak it, and, when you are happy, you may make use of a free tool such as the TweenMachine to assist break lower your poses. Finally, when things are working, spline your curves and refine the ultimate result. Make sure to leave the lipsync towards the finish - this is actually the lowest a part of a great acting shot.
