After a few traditional animation studies I decided I wanted to create this short digital animation.
Drawn in Photoshop
9 and a half hours later my animation is rendered and I begin compositing the final visuals.
Although I did texture the character I still adjust settings such as the hue and saturation in the footage along with adding a background and extras. (Like rain and a cinematic appeal)
I take inspiration from the original footage in Blade Runner by adding a background that is reminiscent of a futuristic like city without taking to much away from the animated model.
I also take visual inspiration from the recent film "Enders Game" along with the video game "Battlefield 4".
I create the environment with photoshop creating a foreground, midground (Character model) and background.
I also add a cheeky lens flare in the foreground but I make sure it doesn't take over the footage.
Animation On Display organized ANIME LANE on Post Street and proudly presented the COSPLAY MASQUERADE on Pagoda Stage!

A still from the short film Blind Justice/Some Protection directed by Marjut Rimminen. Blind Justice is a series of four films on “Women and the Law", commissioned by Channel 4 Television in 1987.
"‘Some Protection" is an animated documentary, based on true story of Josie O’Dwyer and using her voice as personal commentry, the film shows the devastating effect that detention and imprisonment have on young girls, who are sent in “for their own protection”.
