this is another animation i created.
it's much more complex than my previous animated image.
first i started out with a black background. i then added the pictures of the sun and the planets. they were all cropped to become free floating images. then i used the marquee tool to make circles around the sun which i then used Stroke to make them stay. these circles around the sun acted as guidelines for me to place my planets in orbit around the sun. they were then animated to appear as if they were moving in orbit. the image is not fully completed due to lack of time. but you get the point, all they do is circle around, over and over again.
i'm proud of it :)
animations 1 and 2: character exploration, staring into a mirror and walk cycle.
3: fast tip-toe sneak based on my COVID-19 shopping experience. I attempted to buy more than one pack of toilet roll and got stopped promptly by security :)
This head was designed and created for characters of the incoming Australian animated series. Our task was to insert as many mechanisms as possible to allow a wide range of facial expressions. The task was rather challenging considering a very small size of the head (only 1-2/3" tall). The head and a mechanism was developed digitally, produces by SLA and manually assembled and adjusted. We never heard about another attempt to insert so many mechanisms and articulation points into such little room. Therefore, when the two first heads were assembled and proved to be working smoothly, it was a real celebration.

340/365. i'm trying out the role of project manager at Hood Design. my first task: a public art project in Norfolk, VA. it's a "swarming soundscape" that tells the story of the Era of Massive Resistance in Norfolk in the 50's/60's. These short animations illustrate the different types of soundscapes that can be created within the swarm.
these little vignettes are are the reason why i haven't uploaded/slept in three days. this project is going to be the death of me. being a project manager is tough.

(i just started experimenting with animation in photoshop.)
Animated .gif of turning a wooden bowl. This one was ultimately a failure, I thinned out the bottom too much & poked a hole in it. However I had my camera in intervalometer mode taking a picture every minute, so you get to see almost the entire process. View the large size to see the animation.

Animation in the making. Teddy character was originally modeled by Ben Bradi, my mate from previous work. UV Texture and concept drawing by Alex. I was in charge for rigging, so I am familiar with this character joints inside out.
I decided to create a simple animation based on this little Teddy (Ben permitted), just an exercise in character interaction animation and acting storytelling. The environment is very simple. Animation posted soon, when it's done.

Yes, it's just a filmed storyboard... but that's what they asked for :P
I've just realised, I forgot to turn the frigging lights on when I filmed that. It was done on the line tester at uni, just because it's a rough thing... but jeez, who forgets to turn on the lights?
It's unedited, all the timing is exactly as it is laid out on the storyboard as the edited one didn't load to youtube properly.
Oh yeah, it's supposed to be a self portrait of how I got the name Wedge... I think my teacher was expecting it to be all surreal and symbolic... as if I could pass up the opportunity to do something silly, to do something like that :P

Some behind the scenes photos from an animation movie project by the illustrator and director Jöns Mellgren www.jonsmellgren.com/ together with director of photography Oskar Idin www.oskaridin.se/ . Both very talented! I'm really looking forward to the release later this year.
I finally found and shot a whole damsel emergence process. :)

This short "animation" is my first attempt at making something else than photos on flickr. I was inspired by an animation festival in Poznan called "Animator". I tried to make various effects (like in movies I saw during the festival) so it' hasn't got any logic or sense just visual concept. I made this movie in one day (using a piece of crap called Windows Movie Maker) so there's a lot of work to do but i hope you'll like it anyway.
