German postcard by Kolibri-Verlag, Hamburg-Bergedorf, no. 1300. Photo: Arthur Grimm / Fono / Deutsche London. Lonny Kellner and Claus Biederstaedt in Keine Angst vor Schwiegermüttern/No fear of mothers-in-law (Erich Engels, 1954).
Lonny Kellner (1930-2003) was a German Schlager singer and actress. She was married to comedian and radio and television personality Peter Frankenfeld.
German actor Claus Biederstaedt (1928-2020) was a typical 'sonny boy', the nice & friendly star of the Wirtschaftswunder cinema of the 1950s. With his twinkling eyes, he was the charming and funny young man in many German-language comedies, melodramas, and even in some war films.

Of course there is joy, and pride, and love. Lots of it. But it's hard to describe the angst I feel when I see these kids grow up and become young adults. I am certain they will be okay. But I'm not sure I will be okay.
I'm so glad I stopped into Odyssey Stoneware in Port Jeff today, it turns out that after thirty years or so in PJ, Josephine is moving her store and her studio to Cape Cod! Our loss is their gain. She very kindly let me take a photo of her throwing a pot - eventually, this is going to be a covered butterdish. She does have a website & she told me today that soon she is going to list some of her things on Etsy. Here's her website.
I have a deep love of pottery, and it's one of the crafts that I want to learn someday. Seeing people throw pots is just magical to me, but I know it is a hard learned skill. I used to try when I was a teenager, but what with all the teenage angst taking up much of my time I never got very far. I must have another go someday.
