A car transporter attempts to turn round on Barrow's busy Salthouse Road on 3 March 2016. This is not the picture I planned and I was really annoyed at the time that the idiot LGV driver had took a wrong turn and got in my way just at the wrong time. However it turned out to be an interesting image in the end.
The young lad in the super-hero costume had probably been allowed to dress up for school as it was World book day, with dad showing his support. The family are amused and bemused at the driver attempting the tricky manoeuvre here, reversing into a suburban side street with parked cars on both sides, but it was presumably unavoidable because the height of the trailer - loaded with cars - exceeded the 4.3 metre limit of the low bridge.
Crossing the bridge is the train I was waiting for, 4Z69 - the 1450 Barrow Marine Terminal - Kingmoor, headed by DRS locomotives 68004 & 68002 that was operated in preparation of transporting containers of nuclear material from Dounreay via Barrow docks.
I usually avoid taking photos of cars with their hoods/bonnets lifted but this one seemed interesting, even amusing!
Would be interesting to hear what you think of the background... too colorful or ok? I quite like the effect as it is much more colorful then I would normally use. Various versions here; let me know which one you prefer!

Two girls watched with amusement as this guy went through a series of static stretching poses on a dock in the Charles River, off the Esplanade.
