Blanquillo Clay Lick, Manú National Park, Peru
Every morning, hundreds of Parrots and Macaws come to the clay lick from which they eat the minerals they need for their diet. It's a spectacular performance, with a few birds (always the parrots) arriving first and waiting in the trees overhead until a large number have congregated before descending to the lick. Meanwhile, the macaws have been gathering too and seem to be more cautious than the parrots but eventually they drop down and start to eat. The noise they make is incredible, and it's amusing to watch them squabbling amongst themselves. The birds at this lick had reason to be cautious as there is an ocelot who lurks there with a ready meal on its mind. Unfortunately, we didn't see it on any of the occasions when we visited the lick.
We were in a purpose-built hide a good distance from the lick so photography was challenging to say the least for a 300mm lens even with a 1.4 converter.
ODC-Two Of A Kind
Amazon Anne & Eve were having a conversation about this old phone I use in some of my Halloween shots.

HMS Amazon (F169) was the first Type 21 frigate of the Royal Navy. Her keel was laid down at the Vosper Thornycroft shipyard in Southampton, England. The ship suffered a fire in the Far East in 1977, drawing attention to the risk of building warships with aluminium superstructure.
Amazon was the only unit of her class to not participate in the Falklands War, as she was in the Persian Gulf at the time.
By the mid-1980s the surviving Type 21s were suffering cracking in the hull and so she was taken in for refitting, with a steel plate being welded down each side of the ship. At the same time modifications were made to reduce hull noise. Four Exocet launchers were also fitted in 'B' position, the last of the class to be so fitted.
Amazon decommissioned and was sold to Pakistan on 30 September 1993, being renamed Babur

So…. Amazon is essentially barring Australian customers from using any non Australian Amazon site by July 1st and claims that we can still access their products from their Australian site. Unfortunately the only dolls there are overpriced, bland blonde blue eyed dolls and not even a single articulated doll.
I mustered up some doll savings and bought three of these AA Musician dolls cuz I’ve been waiting forever for Amazon to get their Dark Brown tone MTM up and I knew if I hesitated I would regret not getting at least some form of articulated body in this skin tone even if I think it’s one of the worst designed ones Mattel has produced.
I had my Fashionistas on painted bodies but I’ve been trying to upgrade my painted body hybrids whenever I can cuz of how delicate painted bodies are. I;m planning for the last body for my incoming AA Holiday doll, but I’m debating on getting more as back up, or if I’ll take my chances on Amazon putting the MTM dolls up by July 1st :/
