It was late afternoon on a cloudy day. A calm lake gave a perfect reflection of a boat house with pink roof as main subject that was surrounding in fall colour on the water surface of Mary Lake. Mary Lake - It is equally as beautiful as the areas around the big three lakes in Muskoka. This is Muskoka River flows out of Mary Lake. There is a considerable amount of history on these lakes and they tend to be populated by quaint cottages instead of the ostentatious McMansions on the larger lakes. I highly recommend visits to the area.

Onnetō Lake is a part of Akan National Park in Ashoro, Hokkaido. "Onneto" means old pond or big pond in the aboriginal Ainu language. The lake with a circumference of 2.5 km was created when the river was dammed up due to the volcanic eruption of Mt. Meakan-dake. Due to high acidity levels, fish can’t live in the lake but ezo salamander and crawfish can.
Since the surface of Lake Onneto beautifully changes color from light blue to green and dark blue, depending on the time of day or the season, the lake is also called Goshikinuma. Along with Okotanpe Lake and Shinonome Lake, the lake is considered one of the three major mystery lakes in Hokkaido. Lake Onnetō (オンネトー), from the Ainu onne (ancient) and to (lake), is a freshwater lake near Ashoro in Akan National Park, Hokkaidō, Japan.
