Whoops, Even an ultra-wide lens was not enough to get Mercury, on the lower right

Car wheel alignment can (roughly) be measured by dropping a line from the edge of the tire to the ground. Measuring the distance between opposite tires will give the toe-in distance.
Ever heard of a Camperdown elm pine?
I was in the backyard and our front yard pine tree was in perfect alignment with the camperdown.....I'm easily entertained! ha ha

I had to ge the timing right on this. As the balloons moved around it took a bit of patience to wait for the exact moment where you could compose a shot like these. Of course the pilots themselves do not purposely do this so that makes it harder
The laser pointer is held between two routed V's. The mirror is attached to the face of a putter with grip tape. The laser is adjusted to shine on the middle of a golf ball six feet from the laser. The golfer aims at the hold and when the ball is removed the beam reflects back to a show the putter alignment. Something as simple as a cardboard box positioned behind the "hole" can show the reflected beam.

The last photo taken out of 867 that night, looking for the meteors, but finding the alignment of the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter, along with that small cluster of stars that I don't know the name of.
Once I'm well aimed at a star on the north-south meridian and on the celestial equator, it's time to attach the webcam. This is useful to automate the process of drift alignment.
For this first stage of drift alignment, I correct the east-west angle (azimuth) of the mount until the mount can track a star with little drift for 5 minutes.

A dazzling alignment of the moon, Venus, Mars and Jupiter was seen this early morning! Thin high clouds have made the view a bit 'hazy' but didn't obstruct the view. Pics taken from around San Jose, CA. (Thursday around dawn, October 8, 2015)
Astronomy news/update:
Before sunrise on October 7-9, 2015, the moon and the sky’s two brightest planets (Venus and Jupiter) was to create a dazzling celestial display. Look eastward before sunrise. On Wednesday (Oct. 7), from top to bottom, the setup was the moon, Venus and Jupiter. Venus is about 12 times brighter than Jupiter. On the mornings of October 7, 8 and 9, the moon was to be dropping downward toward the eastern horizon in the eastern predawn sky, sliding past the planets. Mars was to also be in the show as well but may appear very faint.
Bottom line... don't miss this great morning drama, featuring the waning crescent moon and the planets Venus, Mars and Jupiter! Just before dawn, you’d be able to view the show, weather permitting. Now that October was here, the days are getting shorter for us here in the northern hemisphere, so the sun rises around 7 a.m. This provides a chance for us to check out this dazzling, predawn celestial view. If it was summertime, the sun would have already risen.
Old Pacific Highway alignment heading north from Ballina. This section was bisected by the 2011 Ballina bypass.
Stopped by last night after work and helped my son align his grandparents Brookwood. Shop built, too bad money didn't buy a alignment... So far off... Should drive amazing now. Another example of just because you have a hot rod shop doesn't make you a professional.

The light goes out through the telescope mirrors and bounces back to where it started. This means everything is (roughly) aligned!
Thank you Don at Kimball's on Pacific Ave in Tacoma for the great alignment! Great guy. He said that in his 40 years of working there he had never seen a car as low as mine haha.
Don brought the camber out as much as he could, equaled out the caster and zeroed the toe just how I wanted. The car drives much better now!
