The Shire Flickr Group at Como Park - 28 March 2009. Michael, Alison, Tony, Justin, Jason, Andrew, Stan and I met with 6 Nikons, 1 Sony & 1 Canon.
I love parallel lines, alignment and symmetry. Even Michael is facing East and perfectly aligned with the boats in this photo.

Huyton Track 3's temporary alignment. The signalbox has but days to live.
Taken from the walkway to Huyton's then eastbound platform, Platform 2, looking west. At this stage the walkway crossed Tracks 3 and 4-to-be by a very, very low bridge.
A last look at the signabox, tomorrow it will be gone.

Possible former Michigan Road alignment, Shelbyville. It is not in a direct line with the Michigan Road; SR 44 is. But it's awfully unusual for a road to lie maybe twenty feet from the highway. Also, this road is signed as Broadway St., and just beyond where SR 44 curves up ahead (you can see it in the photo), SR 44 is signed as Broadway St.
Northbound relative to the MR; westbound relative to Shelbyville.
UPDATE: On a trip through Shelbyville in Nov. 2009, I found SR 44 widened and this road gone.

There is an alignment of the five visible planets (not counting our own..) right now. All are visible for a short time in the western sky shortly after sunset. If you happen to be in the right place at the right time, that is..
Must be prime time viewing in Fort Davis. When we were there, the only planet above the horizon was Jupiter, but it was pretty spectacular. To actually see four of the moons of Jupiter with your own eyes (albeit with the aid of a pretty large telescope..) was a surreal experience.
But timing is everything, and our trip happened to fall in a period where the star party happened while most of the planets were blocked by the earth we are standing on.
Similarly, I don't have much of a view of the western sky where I live, and to see Mercury, you have to be able to see all the way to the horizon, because Mercury's orbit is so close to the sun.
I have seen it though.. crossing in front of the sun just as it was setting.. Now that was a sweet bit of good timing.
There are 3km of Old Highway One fragments, ghosts and traces visible and in various states of repair north of Owanyilla on the west side of the current alignment of the A1.
Fiddling with the alignment. It's crucial to get this right so that the diff remains in alignment throughout it's swing as the chain stretches.
The last stage of the suspension installation was to align the suspension. Eddie and the shop used a computerized system that displayed the camber and toe in real time as they adjusted things.
We went with 1.5 degrees negative camber at front, 2.0 at the rear, and about 1/16" of toe-out at all four corners. As the shocks break in and I have the chance to take the car out for some test days, we may adjust things (particularly as I move to a more aggressive track-oriented tire), but for now the car is a delight to drive.

Route 66 (Alignments 1926-1930s and 1930s-1938) - I-40 / US180 Exit 230.
This small outbuilding is the first remains of Two Guns.
Look the mural, it can indicate that Two Guns is part of legend of Route 66.

Less than 24hrs after purchase I wanted to make sure my baby is drivin straight! Sure enough toe was way out and it needs a rear camber kit :-/ oh well, nice when you work on cars for a living :)
The dropouts were made a little concave during the bending of the tabs. Here, I'm checking and fixing it.

We see on left of photo, the old alignment (1938 - 1950s) who comes from Rio Puerco Bridge and that joins the alignment 1926 to 1937.
