LOOSE alignment nut. Gee I'd say that produced a rattle that was driving me crazy.

This is the touched up version of the previous image.

Alligator Creek Bridge 1959

A statuary in front of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Brigus, Newfoundland, Canada. Adjacent is a convent formed of a group of nuns from Ireland. The Mission is aptly named "our Lady of Snow".

I nobly restrained myself from titling this shot, "I caught one thiiiissss big". Couldn't resist putting it in the comment, though. No sacriligious intentions, but the angle is suggestive of the humour.

After installing the new tires Les Schwab set the front end alignment to factory specifications. The alignment wasn't off but the wheel was not centered.

Deduced amino acid sequence and phylogenic analysis of DS1.(A) Alignment of deduced amino acid sequence of DS1 and its ortholog in N. tabacum (NtPAP), phosphatidic acid phosphatase 2-like proteins from Vitisvinifera (VvPAPLP), Thellungiellahalophila (ThPAP2LP), Arabidopsisthaliana (AtPAP2LP), and Oryzasativa (OsPAP2LP). Dots show identical amino acids, bars show amino acids that are not present in sequences. Boxes show conserved PAP catalytic motifs I, II, and III essential for PAP activity. Putative transmembrane motifs are shown in italic with underline. (B) Phylogenic tree of lipid phosphatases in plants. Gray boxes show DS1 and its ortholog in N. tabacum. The scale bar represents 0.1 JTT distance matrix units.

I'm working on a piano application at the moment, and hadn't previously explored what the correct alignment of piano keys is. These two images show what we had, and what we need to have. regions of the same colour have the same width.

The Shire Flickr Group at Como Park - 28 March 2009. Michael, Alison, Tony, Justin, Jason, Andrew, Stan and I met with 6 Nikons, 1 Sony & 1 Canon.

I love parallel lines, alignment and symmetry. Even Michael is facing East and perfectly aligned with the boats in this photo.

Here is one step in making sure the chain stays and dropouts are properly aligned in the frame. The two large cylinders in the center make it easy to see if the dropouts are the same length, and if they are parallel to each other.

Possible former Michigan Road alignment, Shelbyville. It is not in a direct line with the Michigan Road; SR 44 is. But it's awfully unusual for a road to lie maybe twenty feet from the highway. Also, this road is signed as Broadway St., and just beyond where SR 44 curves up ahead (you can see it in the photo), SR 44 is signed as Broadway St.

Northbound relative to the MR; westbound relative to Shelbyville.

UPDATE: On a trip through Shelbyville in Nov. 2009, I found SR 44 widened and this road gone.

Or possibly socks - no two alike.

There is an alignment of the five visible planets (not counting our own..) right now. All are visible for a short time in the western sky shortly after sunset. If you happen to be in the right place at the right time, that is..

Must be prime time viewing in Fort Davis. When we were there, the only planet above the horizon was Jupiter, but it was pretty spectacular. To actually see four of the moons of Jupiter with your own eyes (albeit with the aid of a pretty large telescope..) was a surreal experience.

But timing is everything, and our trip happened to fall in a period where the star party happened while most of the planets were blocked by the earth we are standing on.

Similarly, I don't have much of a view of the western sky where I live, and to see Mercury, you have to be able to see all the way to the horizon, because Mercury's orbit is so close to the sun.

I have seen it though.. crossing in front of the sun just as it was setting.. Now that was a sweet bit of good timing.
