This car turned up on Ebay in 2003, a few years after I had sold it. It had undergone an exterior "restoration", destroying its originality. As has been said, "They are only original once." Previous to when I bought it, it had been a one-owner, low-mileage original, and I did no restoration work on it. All I did was replace the tires and get a front end alignment.
Looking north from the Stonhenge visitor parking lot sits the Great Cursus, a long rectangular earthwork that runs for about 3km (1.8 miles) on an east-west alignment. Its width varies from 100 to 150metres (109 to 164 yards). It was built during the Neolithic period, around 3100BC, making it slightly earlier than the circular bank and ditch of the first phase of Stonehenge.
Although similar cursus monuments exist in England and many theories have been put forward, their the purpose is unknown. They generally survive only as marks, shallow banks and ditches visible only from the air.
The antiquarian William Stukeley, who first recorded the Stonehenge Cursus, believed it had been used for chariot racing by the ancient Britains and described it as 'cursus' from the Latin term for race course. Looking at the outline of the site in the landscape, it does indeed look like a circuit of some sort. Originally its banks would have been high enough to hide the inside of the enclosure from those outside.
One theory suggests that cursus monuments may have served as processional ways for the dead. The placing of burial mounds on their edges may support this view.
The Stonehenge Cursus is aligned on an earlier Neolithic long barrow at its eastern end. A Bronze Age round barrow was built at its western end. Immediately south, there is also a group of burial mounds, known as the Cursus Barrows.
I don't have free access to fancy CNC machines, so an alignment mark is needed to know which holes match. Eventually found out it was close, but they are not spot on.
Note: the cardboard gets destroyed during the drilling process. A new template is needed for each head.
These images are from two very similar projects that I've just helped my friends with. They want to be able to hold bike frames on their alignment tables by the head tube. They both purchased used bench centers, and we had to make bull nose centers for them.
The fit up needed to be very close, so we were working to within a few tenths.
The other complication was that one of the centers on each set was spring loaded and utilized a rack and pinion to withdraw it... so we had to mill those rack gears.

Conserved relevant metal binding sites, GSH binding sites and dimer formation residues are indicated by ▪, ▾ and *, respectively. The β-lactamase signature motif and rhodanese active-site loop are marked with a black box and grey box, respectively. Sequence comparisons of J, CQ92, GX4 and SH06 rabies virus isolates.(A) A comparison of the genomic sequence of RABV isolates J, CQ92, GX4 and SH06. Strain CQ92 was used as the query. The y-axis gives the percentage of identity within a sliding window of 300 bp centered on the position plotted, with a step size between plots of 20 bp. The left side of (B), (C) and (D) panels showed the variant sites of CQ92 and its parent lineage representatives GX4 and SH06 in different genomic regions. The identity between CQ92 and its parent lineages is also shown in the middle of each panel. The variant sites identical to GX4 and SH06 are shaded in pink and grey, respectively. The right side of each panel shows the analysis of homology between CQ92 and parental lineages to show the different origins of CQ92. The phylogenetic histories of each region were inferred using the neighbor-joining method with a Tamura 3-parameter model. The robustness of each tree was tested by bootstrapping with 1000 replicates. Bootstrap values are shown beside the branches. (B) Positions 172?616. (C) Positions 1?171 and 617?941. (D) Positions 942?1423.

Alignment and phylogenetic analysis of SUP-like genes.(A) Alignment of CsSUP and SUP-like genes. The amino acid sequences of CsSUP, Csa001112 and Cas010435 in cucumber, AtSUP and RBE in Arabidopsis, NtSUP in tobacco, PhSUP in petunia, SlSUP in white campion and Os05g0286100 in rice were aligned using ClustalW in the MEGA5 software package. The black and gray areas indicate identical and similar amino acid, respectively. Zinc-finger and leucine zipper (LZ)-like domains were indicated in black lines. The DLELRL domain [15] was showed in red box. (B) An unrooted phylogenetic tree constructed using the amino acid sequences of CsSUP, Csa001112, Cas010435, AtSUP, RBE, NtSUP, PhSUP, SlSUP and Os05g0286100 based on the neighbor joining method. Branch length is proportional to evolutionary distance.
