Still riding a xenomorph high, fueled by last night’s Alien Earth episode. This show has been an incredibly wild ride, and I both dread and eagerly await next week’s season finale. The show has injected so much new blood into the lore and I can’t wait to see what is left standing after all the dust settles. Are you watching? What do you think? 👽👽👽
Here are three photos I shot back in 2008 when I was still using REAL PEOPLE as models. Our challenge is for members to shoot a series of no more than five photos with their action figures, that have the same theme.
The rules are:
1. The victim must be a pretty girl.
2. The villain must be a monster / space alien
3. The villain MAY be represented by just a shadow, as in my pics, but you may also use an action figure if a suitable one is available. (my alien was a large black plastic cut out, to camera right and out of the frame, casting only a shadow.)
4. The sequence of images should suggest a chase of some sort, ending in a cliffhanger moment.
5. The choice of clothing worn by the girl is up to you, however the more 50's retro it looks, the better.
6. The choice of background is all yours, but you must use a coloured, preferably green light source to create an sci-fi alien vibe.
Aside from that, it's all up to your creativity.
My son asked for a Halloween themed shoot in his astronaut costume. He liked the result.
Stock images have been used for the background and the alien (obviously).

Pairs of these units were first seen supporting frames of colony Branton as they revolted against local SU forces to devastating effect. The initial reports that were sent back assumed they were new Ijad units. This was the SUs working theory until one was downed and inspected. The pilot, still alive, attacked the recovery squad tearing the arm off a Chub before being killed.
Made for Mobile Frame Zero.
Twisting Light #3. The next experimental shot exploring the patterns formed by light passing through shaped and formed plastics. These are analog images taken direct onto 35mm film.
I'd be interested to see what they remind you of.
This alien is very similar in design as the Worker Alien. The main difference is the orientation of the motorcycle chassis. By just turning it upside down you get a totally different look.
Not shown: arms and tails. These are basic droid arm connections.
Have a look at the notes for more information.
