The scene of a security alert in the Bogside area of Derry/Londonderry - The area was sealed off shortly after 5PM on Tuesday evening. Workmen removing two storage containers from a car-parking area in front of McLeans Bookmakers on Blucher Street, just off Westland Street , discovered a suspicious package concealed between the containers. It is believed that the package may possibly have been concealed there before being moved to its eventual intended location. It still uncertain this evening if it is a viable device. The area in which it was discovered is only yards from the house of Sinn Fein MLA Mitchel McLaughlin, although there is nothing to indicate that Mr. McLaughlin was the target.
