Aftermath of Typhoon Melor (Typhoon 20W)
Saipan was spared as the typhoon Melor shifted far enough north, winds were not as strong as feared.

Galveston Texas is perhaps best known as the city devastated by the 1900 Galveston Hurricane. The natural disaster on the exposed barrier island is still ranked as the deadliest in United States history, with an estimated death toll of 6,000-8,000 people. The pain reflected in the aftermath of that storm and many others since is visibly apparent everywhere, including in the design of this abandoned seaside recreational building.

The aftermath of yesterday's party. I had to photograph the lanai because I couldn't figure out how to photograph all my aches and pains.

After the storm passed we went out to check the damage. We found the park right outside the house was completely destroyed. Just a couple of nights prior we had seen it full with children playing, but now dozens of trees littered the playground.
Not only did we go without electricity for 11 days, but we had to be without water for two days due to water heater going out and then once it was fixed and we turned on the water, then both bathrooms overflowed with backed up sewer and flooded the other side of the house. What a mess trying to clean all this up with no electricity. I am so glad it seems to be all over. Please Lord let it be over!
The aftermath of typhoon Morakot that hammered Taiwan a few years ago. This small valley like many others in Taiwan was buried by rocks and gravel.
Photos of the aftermath of the Fletchers bakery fire.
A friendly security guard didn't have the keys to let me on site, but he did say that people would be there on Saturday to let me take photos, I wont be able to make it down, but if someone else wants to go down instead?
I was going to document the demolition of the building over the coming months.
