Back in October when the replica of the Spanish Galeon Andalusia visited our Savannah Harbor..loved the juxtaposition of the paddle ship The Georgia Queen and the 16th century sailing vessel next to one another..different worlds..different times..Have a blessed weekend one and all..thanking all those who helped bring this to Explore and your kind comments and faves..they are truly appreciated..

Dunsborough West Australia

A small scene we spotted whilst walking along Limantour Beach on Point Reyes. One of the things I miss about my old life is an excuse to visit that part of the world regularly. Point Reyes is a beautiful and rugged landscape.

Mostly I like the pastel colors in this scene, which is an odd still life of things washed up from the Pacific.

Another in the collection of flowers shot at the zoo...how quickly the plants recovered from the recent frosts...the reflection on this one was nice....thanks for looking...

A curiosity in the woods. Erik shot it, too.

Manyo Botanical Garden, Deer Park, Nara City, Japan. Perforned on this satge on Nov 3, (legal/national holiday called 'Culture Day') is centuries-old *Gagaku* music, probably by local players all clad in a time-honored Kyoto Imperial-Court way.

Street art seen on MKU3A outings. 3 posts

There is a joke in our photo group that I can find street art anywhere - well I do try! This interesting piece is by Hayley Welsh and taken on our Croydon trip.

This is the first time I've seen a dunlin swimming on deep water. However, the West Kirby wader roost was so crowded that some birds had no choice.

Weed-covered rock provides a nice, colourful foreground to the backdrop of the pastel sky at Howden, Tasmnaia.

Took a short walk at the park on an extremely windy Autumn day. Sorry for so many photos, as usual. :) Just saving to albums.

One of the limitations of landscape photography is its expectation of reality. You can't take a lake photo, add an exploding volcano in the background, a unicorn prancing along its shores, a flaming sunrise, and still reasonably call it a photo. But in portrait photography, as I'm discovering, the same limitations just don't exist. Any scene I want to create, or any emotion I want to explore, I can. Have a girl riding in a hot air balloon above the clouds at sunrise, on a quest for adventure? No expectation of reality here. It's an amazingly liberating way of making images.

Thanks for looking, and check out some behind the scenes images below.

It's kind of a strange building, seemingly floating about like that. Boardwalk neighbourhoods are so photogenic! The pretty sunset notwithstanding.

I captured this scene in the early morning light while visiting the harbor in Princeton by the Sea, CA. This is the Morgan. I love the old weathered look and feel in addition to the boot.

Spent the weekend down at the Central coast with family for a small holiday. Was fairly stormy over the weekend but during the mornings the sunrises didn't go that bad and I'm fairly happy with the outcome of them.
