Sitting afloat upon the River Leven near Scotlands Loch Lomond is this craft - someones transport to freedom from the daily grind of life.
The River Leven is the only river connecting Loch Lomond to the Sea and is claimed to be the second fastest river in Scotland, only beaten by the River Spey. It is fast flowing but not at this point in Balloch just a mere 200 meters from the mouth of Loch Lomond.
There are some places where I really enjoy shooting and there are others which I find particularly sad. This is one of those sad locations, the River Irvine at Irvine Harbour, to think what this place was once like as a busy and hectic harbour with lots going on, including ship repair yards and more. When the Proclaimers wrote the song Letter from America, one of the towns mentioned in the song is Irvine. A walk along the harbourside now and it is not difficult to see the desolation and to think of what this place was once like.

See all of my images here in my gallery on black:
The container ship Murcia Maersk carrying thousands of Rubik's Cubes spotted heading to the Straits of Gibraltar.
Capturing a flock of seagulls suddenly take flight during a spectacular sunset on Naples Beach in Florida.
Saw the waves, but not the tide
I couldn't stay, I don't know why
A sailor married to the sea
My luck is a lost key
The door is locked from the inside
Don't wait around, I won't arrive
Keep a room somewhere for me
I'll find it on my way back

I'm doing an image manipulation project in photography class using these verses of this song, but this here is for personal use.
Oh, this is also my own water texture. I'm noticing some of my photos work well this way, so conveniently I've never had to use anyone else's work. (Not that I have anything against using others' textures with appropriate credit.) :D

Back in October when the replica of the Spanish Galeon Andalusia visited our Savannah Harbor..loved the juxtaposition of the paddle ship The Georgia Queen and the 16th century sailing vessel next to one another..different worlds..different times..Have a blessed weekend one and all..thanking all those who helped bring this to Explore and your kind comments and faves..they are truly appreciated..
