Ian Smith explains how the first batch of Low Height AEC Regents were not really destined for London. “Following the war Midland General had ordered thirty Weymann low bridge buses but discovered that they did not need twenty of them after all! Their loss was London's gain.”

Ref. Ian's Bus Stop RLHs

There were however a second batch of 56 buses, type 2 with some different specifications. The ventilators on the roof of type 1, missing on the later batch, is one of the obvious differences. See more TIMEBUS RLH TYPE DIFFERENCES.

Having seen a recent night time photo of this wharf I thought I'd have a go. I'm not that pleased with the result so will have another try.

The biggest problem appears to be a lack of sharpness, especially on a couple of the narrow boats although there was some movement on the water that may well not have helped

Just before Christmas 1985, I snapped this 1983 Ever Ready Bedford TK making a delivery to shops in Addlestone, Surrey. Possibly Woolworth was the recipient, although I suspect that they had a 'tradesman's entrance', around the back. A377 GLP was quite long-lived, being licensed until May 2011. I have no idea what has replaced this particular branch of Woolies as Street View has yet to be updated!

Wealden Omnibuses took it two years later, then Sharon Coaches of Addlestone bought it in 1987. It then served with Hill's of Hersham and JBS coaches of Bedford before joining Coleman's of Speke t/a Castle Coaches in February 1993.

This image shows an Emirates Airbus A380 in flight. The Airbus A380 is the world's largest passenger airliner, with a capacity of over 500 passengers depending on the configuration. It's the only full-length double-deck jet airliner, offering spaciousness and comfort. Emirates is the largest operator of the A380, with over 80 in service. Emirates A380s are known for their luxury, including features like a bar and shower for first-class passengers. Despite its size, the A380 is quieter and more fuel-efficient than other large aircraft. Airbus ended production of the A380 in the early 2020s, but many airlines, including Emirates, continue to operate them.

A6-EVM is an Airbus A380-842. The Airbus A380 is a very large wide-body airliner, developed and produced by Airbus. Airbus studies started in 1988, and the project was announced in 1990 to challenge the dominance of the Boeing 747 in the long-haul market. The then-designated A3XX project was presented in 1994 and Airbus launched the €9.5–billion A380 programme on 19 December 2000. The first prototype was unveiled in Toulouse on 18 January 2005, commencing its first flight on 27 April 2005. It then obtained its type certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on 12 December 2006.

The full-length double-deck aircraft has a typical seating for 525 passengers, with a maximum certified capacity for 853 passengers. The quadjet is powered by Engine Alliance GP7200 or Rolls-Royce Trent 900 turbofans providing a range of 14,800 km. As of December 2021, the global A380 fleet had completed more than 800,000 flights over 7.3 million block hours with no fatalities and no hull losses. As of April 2024, there were 189 aircraft in service with 10 operators worldwide. 5 airlines have fully retired the A380 from their fleets.

Emirates is one of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates (the other being Etihad Airways). Based in Garhoud, Dubai, the airline is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group, which is owned by the government of Dubai's Investment Corporation of Dubai. It is the largest airline in the Middle East, operating more than 3,600 flights per week from its hub at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. It operates in more than 150 cities in 80 countries across six continents on its fleet of nearly 250 aircraft. Cargo operations are undertaken by Emirates SkyCargo.

Emirates operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft and is one of the few airlines to operate an all-wide-body aircraft fleet (excluding Emirates Executive). As of January 2025, Emirates is the world's largest Airbus A380 operator with 116 aircraft in service. Since its introduction, the Airbus A380 has become an integral part of the Emirates fleet, especially on long-haul, high-density routes. Emirates is also the world's largest Boeing 777 operator with 133 aircraft in service

Some sort of advert?

As with the RLH in my last stream photo this one started life at WY Addlestone garage in Green livery, 1952. It remained in green thoughout it's LT life. Out of LT service 1966. Last entry in Ian Smith site is 11/98 at Borrego Springs, California. This is about 100 kms North East of Ramona. Wonder if it got there under its own steam? Seems it has been rescued. See in comments. Geotag approx.
