The Public Health Service Hospital (PHSH) is located in the Presidio of San Francisco. It has been rehabilitated into luxury condos housing in 2010, and it is now called "Presidio Landmark Apartments".

Fire Bird Birth From Fiery Sun OR Flying Into A Dark But Bright Future?

Is it the birth by fire of a new Fire Bird? Or a dark angel looming above, bringing misgivings? Or the power of dreams flying into a dark, monstrous, malevolent cloud formation -- just beyond which is the promise of pure light and brightness. And just beyond that, visions of God?
The thunder cloud's malevolence separated from the life-giving sun by the razor edge of hope and miracle. A possibility of coming out from storms into the light, however briefly, at least until the final sunset on a life of fantastic flights of fantasy.
Or a little bit of it all?
Smith Point Beach in Long Island, NY is a favorite place of mine to catch sunsets over expansive vistas of water. This time we were there ahead of time and I shot some pictures waiting for the sun to set.
As this bird came towards me, somewhat like the apparition of one Alexander the Great sees in the movie ALEXANDER, the silhouette came into focus. I clicked and snapped a mesmerizing image.

Troglodyte dwellings in Üçhisar, Cappadocia (Turkey)
The eroded rock formations of Cappadocia look like sandstone, but it is actually volcanic tuff, a type of rock consisting of consolidated volcanic ash that originated from ancient volcanic eruptions in the region.

Klingon gagh? No, just live river eels on the market (Lang Sơn, Vietnam)
This really looks like Gagh, the famous Klingon delicacy in the StarTrek TV series. Best eaten fresh and alive!
I just noticed that all the eels plunge their head down, so all you see are bodies and tails, no heads! I like the bubbles, too...

The Walking Pod, by Scott Parenteau
The mighty 12-legged walking machine weighs 1800 pounds. Requiring only 800 watts of power to run with a top speed 0.2 miles per hour, the mutant vehicle is powered by two 12 volt batteries hooked up to an inverter, two speed controllers and two washing machine electric motors.

Following the course of Faversham Creek and joining the Saxon Shore Way, you’ll pass all the busy boatyards servicing the boats that take shelter and moor here.
Even so, it is still hard to believe that the area was formerly one of England’s leading export ports in the Middle Ages.
The path runs across the marshes, famed for their distinct wildlife and the flocks of migrating, overwintering and breeding wetland birds that gather along the coast. The final section of the route takes you near Davington Priory, which is more than 850 years old.
Faversham, home to Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, is rich in history and can even claim credible links to one of England’s oldest folk tales – Beowulf.
The town was granted a charter for a market by King Kenulf in 811AD and the market is still an important attraction. Faversham was awarded by title of the best market town in Kent and one of the top three in the south east by Country Life magazine

This is believed to be the tomb of the 1st century BC Commagene king Antiochus I Epiphanes.

The Nautilus Submarine art car, and the Serpent Mother giant snake metal sculpture.

Rue de Rivoli (Paris)
This is a very unusual view, from the top of the nearby Tour Saint-Jacques (a medieval tower that is off-limit, no trespassing and permanently closed to the public). The photo was taken at night using long exposure.
The camera is facing the North-West direction. The Rue de Rivoli is the one going from the bottom-center to the top-left of the image. The street going to the center-right is the Boulevard de Sébastopol. The street branching off from rue de Rivoli and going up toward the center-top is the Rue des Halles. In the upper-right of the photo you can clearly see the Église Saint-Eustache and the hill of Montmartre in the distance.

The huge Tesla coils of the Sextant camp are being dismantled.
Sadly, they blew up a critical part of their electrical system during some testing on Monday, so the large Tesla coils were off the whole week.
