Penny the Goose, by Mr and Mrs Ferguson
From the Burning Man website: Landing on the Black Rock Desert is a 12 foot tall Canada Goose. Her feathers reflect the sun by day and ground illumination at night. Feathers that are made up from shades of both Canadian and American pennies. The attraction is in being drawn in by the illusion of pennies being feathers.
The year marks the return of this sculpture which made it’s debut in 2013 at Burning Man with only Canadian pennies on it’s back. This year, Penny has been redesigned and will have American pennies on it’s front side.

From the Burning Man website: These pieces playfully straddle in-between the mental and material realms resembling ancient artifacts of an advanced civilization with origins not necessarily earthly or human for that matter. There is sacred geometry existing throughout the structures, with surface patterning that could double as a symbolic language or hieroglyphs.
It’s meant to invoke in the observer a sense of our inner connectedness with a consciousness that seems to exist throughout the universe. The physical representation is of a clue, puzzle or mystery that points to the infinite story that started before us, and will continue long after us – like peeking through the keyhole into another place, time, or dimension, as if a portal had opened and this is what fell out.

Plain Plane View Of Bird's Eye View Of Solar Eye I See On Sun On Sea - IMRAN™
Compare this to yesterday's even more magnificent layers of dusk colors.
The plane passing a few thousand feet above, en route to Islip KISP, can plainly see the bird's eye view of the birds a few hundred feet from me, as I capture this spectacular moment.
The Robert Moses Bridge (17 miles away!) is looking like an Eye of the bright yellow setting sun over the Great South Bay and Long Island, New York, on December 1 from my boardwalk at home.
Is that how you solarize solar eyes you eye? Aye.

Brad takes off with his powered paraglider.
Not sure if this flight was very "legal", since the air-space above Black Rock City was very regulated this year (drones not allowed to fly without a permit). But we saw several BLM and Sheriff cars drive by, and none of the officers cared about Brad and his powered paraglider taking off from the playa!

Daryl's amazing railroad tattoo (San Francisco)
Train tracks, switches and tunnels cover his entire body, front and back, from head to toes (litterally), in a perfectly symetrical and seamless pattern. He designed the tattoo and said it took 200 hours of work to realise the work.
Daryl spent many years of his life "freight train hopping", which involves countless days of walking long miles along desert tracks.
This rail crossing structure is called a frog (in french, it's called "coeur de croisement").
There are two technical errors in this part of the tattoo. Can you find them?

Jazzy is breastfeeding her two babies in tandem nursing (i.e. when two siblings are breastfeed at once).
Well, some people think one of them may be a bit too old to be nursed. Is there an official age limit?
I find it strange that breastfeeding in public is sometimes considered controversial. This is the most natural thing, and that's the reason women have breasts. Breastfeeding babies in public is legal, and photos like this one should no be censored.

Troglodyte dwellings in Üçhisar, Cappadocia (Turkey)
The eroded rock formations of Cappadocia look like sandstone, but it is actually volcanic tuff, a type of rock consisting of consolidated volcanic ash that originated from ancient volcanic eruptions in the region.

The Public Health Service Hospital (PHSH) is located in the Presidio of San Francisco. It has been rehabilitated into luxury condos housing in 2010, and it is now called "Presidio Landmark Apartments".

Fire Bird Birth From Fiery Sun OR Flying Into A Dark But Bright Future?

Is it the birth by fire of a new Fire Bird? Or a dark angel looming above, bringing misgivings? Or the power of dreams flying into a dark, monstrous, malevolent cloud formation -- just beyond which is the promise of pure light and brightness. And just beyond that, visions of God?
The thunder cloud's malevolence separated from the life-giving sun by the razor edge of hope and miracle. A possibility of coming out from storms into the light, however briefly, at least until the final sunset on a life of fantastic flights of fantasy.
Or a little bit of it all?
Smith Point Beach in Long Island, NY is a favorite place of mine to catch sunsets over expansive vistas of water. This time we were there ahead of time and I shot some pictures waiting for the sun to set.
As this bird came towards me, somewhat like the apparition of one Alexander the Great sees in the movie ALEXANDER, the silhouette came into focus. I clicked and snapped a mesmerizing image.

Klingon gagh? No, just live river eels on the market (Lang Sơn, Vietnam)
This really looks like Gagh, the famous Klingon delicacy in the StarTrek TV series. Best eaten fresh and alive!
I just noticed that all the eels plunge their head down, so all you see are bodies and tails, no heads! I like the bubbles, too...

Colossal and enigmatic scultures scattered around a huge tumulus at the top of "Nemrut Dağı" (mount Nemrut, Turkey).
This is believed to be the tomb of the 1st century BC Commagene king Antiochus I Epiphanes.

The Walking Pod, by Scott Parenteau
The mighty 12-legged walking machine weighs 1800 pounds. Requiring only 800 watts of power to run with a top speed 0.2 miles per hour, the mutant vehicle is powered by two 12 volt batteries hooked up to an inverter, two speed controllers and two washing machine electric motors.
