Hiking up Fall Canyon in Death Valley National Park (California).

Fall Canyon is a very nice day hike, starting from the Titus canyon parking area. The narrows with marble rock formation, above the dry waterfall, require some scrambling but they can be reached without needing any rock-climbing.

Jia Ling Chang, drum leader, and the procession of the Mazu crew, an all-Chinese camp with amazing art and a Brazilian drum marching band.

The members of the Mazu camp were all Chinese, mostly from Taiwan, with some coming from Hong Kong and Mainland China (PRC, aka People's Republic of China).

Bodnath Stupa in Kathmandu (Nepal)

The ancient spherical Bodnath Stupa, officially called Boudhanath, located about 11 km North-East of Kathmandu,is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world.

It's a good place to levitate, for sure!

Jen's Budai tattoo - Bangkok (Thailand)

Apparently this "Green Fat Buddha" is in fact a Chinese Budai, sometimes called Laughing Buddha.

Budai is a Chinese folkloric deity which is unrelated to the historical Buddha.

Night view of the Sextant Tower, from the top.

The Sextant Tower was probably the highest climbable structure at Burning Man 2015, and one of my favorite installation. It was very well built by a metallurgist aerospace engineer. There was also a zip-line installed at the top of the tower, and a bar that could be access only by climbing 15 feet up that vertical ladder.

On this photo you can see the metal ladder (vertical, without any protection) that gives access to the crow next at the top.

High in the Yamuna valley, Yamunotri is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination (India)

Yamunotri consists of a Hindu Temple and a few guest houses where pilgrims can stay, and pools filled by a sacred hot springs, where pilgrims can bathe. It is one of the four sites of the Chhota Char Dham Hindu pilgrimage.

The Yamuna is the largest tributary river of the Ganges. It meets the Ganges at the Sangam near Allahabad, site of the largest human gathering on Earth, the Hindu Kumbh Mela festival.

Sailing Stone coming towards me on the Racetrack dry lake in Death Valley (California)

This particular rock has not moved since at least 2007, based on other photos of it at the exact same location 4 years ago.

Sailing stones are rocks that move in long tracks on the smooth and perfectly flat surface of a dry lake, without human or animal intervention. The rocks are most likely propelled by strong winds while entrapped in floating ice sheets (or icebergs), after winter rains flooded the dry lake and made the mud soft and slippery.
