Actually this is a juvenile mockingbird still sporting his
immature freckles... but no braces yet... jj.
The Mockingbird is the state bird of Texas.
Ask any Texan, and you will no doubt learn that the mockingbird has the prettiest song of any bird native to North America. Texas designated the mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) as official state bird in 1927. The Texas legislature noted that the mockingbird: "...is found in all parts of the State, in winter and in summer, in the city and in the country, on the prairie and in the woods and hills...is a singer of distinctive type, a fighter for the protection of his home, falling, if need be, in its defense, like any true Texan..."
The song of the mockingbird is, in fact, a medley of the calls of many other birds. Each imitation is repeated two or three times, then another song is started, all in rapid succession. In the above sample audio file, the songs of four distinct species were recorded in the span of about seven seconds. It is common for an individual bird to have as many as 25-30 songs in its repertory.
The mockingbird is also known as a fierce protector of its nest and environment. It is sometimes seen swooping down on a dog, cat or predator that may be venturing too close to the bird's protected territory.
The mimus polyglottos, as the mockingbird is known scientifically, is about ten inches in length, including its relatively long tail. It has a light gray coat and a whitish underside. Its wings and tail are darker gray with white patches.

When we visited the Musee D'Orsay in September, 2016, we had less than 90 minutes to actually view the collection, so I concentrated on the Impressionist works on the top floor:

When we returned to Paris in May, 2017, I made sure to cover the floors and areas of the Museum that I had missed on my first trip.
Since the D'Orsay owns many more top flight paintings and sculptures than it has room to show at any one time, and lends many works to other institutions, there were many works of art on display in May that had not been there the previous September, so there is little overlap between the two albums.
I also have a separate album about the special exhibition - "Beyond the Stars -The Mystical Landscape from Monet to Kandinsky (Au-dela des Etoiles - Le Paysage Mystique de Monet a Kandinsky)":

I guess there is not much you can do with legs two feet long. As ungainly as they look it's kind of amazing to watch them land on a tree branch.
Actually 'kettling', holding a crowd along with any uninvolved individuals unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I love the wooded sections of Alexandra Park. You'd never guess that you were actually in grimy Wood Green. London, July 2011
In the late afternoon the rain cleared and the sun broke through strongly again and so we went out on the planned visit to Kalasatama, the former fish harbour that is being developed, and is, in estate agent speak, "so hot right now".
It's those towers again but at closer range. A lot of the development is actually pretty decent, so they're doing things right.
actually i was driving to the camera store when i took this haha. sun was setting and horribly shining in my eyes! so naturally i took a picture of it while being blinding at the same time... while driving on the highway
what color would you say my eye would be? it changes everyday.
I actually got to go to both Sanrio stores in CT while I was visiting this time. It was a quick visit to each, but I think this is the first (?) time I went to both in the same weekend, so I was able to confirm what I had suspected - they DO carry slightly different items. It's not a huge difference, but it's esp. noticeable with the plushies. For some reason, I don't think the Trumbull store had any easter stuff. And the Milford store was lacking the Hello Kitty Tartan plushies, the tan dress-up Kitty (which I want... >.>), and this Hello Kitty in a leopard outfit that I'd never seen before (the leopard print had Kitty silhouettes in it! I almost bought it, but it wasn't soft. Sorry no photo, it was right in back of the register). I think the Milford store tends to have more of each item that they carry, but the Trumbull store has more diversity? Maybe. Or maybe I'd say the Milford store is aimed more at kids and the Trumbull store more at collectors. Really tho, there's not a huge difference. I have a subtle preference for the Trumbull store tho, which is too bad because I am closer to the Milford one. >.< The other difference is in the staff. The Milford employees are really nice (I almost always get a trinket) but more low-key. The Trumbull employees tend towards getting really excited and jumping up and down. XD
