Actually this makes me feel quite sick!

actually it was a photo of people's shadows, who are passing before a strong light. then some burn tool was used to give depth to the shadows.

I found out that Oxnard is actually the home of a historic Japantown, as one existed in the city before Japanese Americans were interned in prison camps during WW2.

"Otani Company dates back to 1908 when Toraichi Otani operated a general store and barbershop at 620 Oxnard Blvd, on the first floor of the building. Other businesses included a pool hall and small bathhouse. The family lived on the building's second floor. Decades later, the Nisei sons opened Otani Brothers Produce just prior to the forced removal and evacuation of all Japanese Americans living on the west coast during WWII. Otani Company was boarded up, family belongings were stored in a bedroom, and the house was leased to a Filipino and Mexican American couple, who faithfully paid the mortgage and watched over the properties. After the war, the three Nisei brothers set up a malt shop, specializing in American fare, such as avocado cheeseburgers, fried baloney sandwiches, ice cream sundaes and banana splits; and featuring a jukebox. Sold in the mid 1950s, La Pizza Loca is the current business at the historic site.

In 1952, Izuto Otani started his own venture, building Otani Fish Market at 610 South A Street. In addition to selling fish, the store offered Japanese foods, and fishing tackle supplies. By 1972, a fish & chips shop was featured and has been a mainstay ever since. Continuing the family know-how in adapting business to community needs, the fourth generation operates Otani Izzy Fish Market and Restaurant today. In step with the recent revitalization of old town, the restaurant offers a no-fuss dining experience with specialties such as the classic Fish & Chips, clam chowder, grilled red snapper, or tempura. Otani is the last remaining pre-WWII Japanese American business in town."

Actually the Kontur is a funny thing - once you have understood how it works.

sort of a trick question

Actually I am not sure if this shop is called the Super Cena Meat Emporium, but they might consider it.....(sounds catchy)

Look at all the meat ! I bet Clark the talking Canadian dog would love to be here.

This store was in downtown Brno.

Actually the band didn't get an introduction, so say hi to "stopwatch," "click boy," and "ukulele girl."

Update: This photo was reprinted in the MIT admissions blog. Stopwatch also goes by Anna.

Actually a tavern with the name of a previous business

Actually the first bit of a scarf that is supposed to be a dragons tail- more soon.

First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village, but the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario, it just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have reproductive organs under those little white pants. That's what's so illogical, you know, about being a Smurf. What's the point of living if you don't have a dick?

Actually, just testing video from my cell phone...

Actually, we haven't even left yet. This is Owen waiting for us to finish packing for our day trip to Seattle. It was a great trip. He got to meet his great-gram and great-granddad as well as Zeb's aunt, uncle and cousin (and one very cute dog). And Owen adored all of them. After a lovely lunch and yummy desert we headed for Alki beach/ Harbor Avenue. What a great area!

Needless to say by the end of our drive home Owen was not a big fan of his car seat. I am now a little more worried about our drive to Montana, which is coming up very soon.

Actually, was right then...

Actually this was "bath", not the city. And the story later changed, he was found with a ligature round his neck.

Actually, John Tomlinson

I actually pulled an all-nighter on this piece. I just wasn’t sleepy but also, I was just getting into putting this thing together. The momentum was rolling and I didn't want to stop.

This mech is made for mid to long range battle, Gatling gun on one arm and a sniper rifle on the other. It uses energy “bullets” so it has cooling systems built around it. The feet look really small in the profile shot and I was debating if I wanted to beef them up but decided not too. It had to be nimble and with clunky feet, it would have a hard time getting footing on craggy surfaces. There are 4 boosters that tuck away facing forward round the body. It can be used to repel close range combatants or help gain some distance from the target. When using the Sniper rifle, the boosters can face the opposite direction and compensate for the kickback the heavy rifle produces.

This was a fun mecha piece, especially since it has been years since I’ve played with my LEGO bricks. I used a laser pointer to illuminate the “eye” in some of the shots. I do have a light brick but I didn’t incorporate it in the design. Many next time in another piece.

Actually, you really shouldn't deep fry toast.

So we actually shot in several locations. The shoot was last minute and random cause they cancelled on Tuesday and rebooked and we went to the woods and found a dead body.... Not sure if it was human or a dog or a pig. Spelled death. So we left in a hurry. Not to mentioned it's my favourite place to shoot and the trees were now crosses. So it starts to rain so we go to the arcade and shoot a lot then they decide to go to the loading dock which is where we ended up taking the most shots seeing they wanted something more serious now then fun. All and all it was fun. Minus not being able to use my 2 other strobes and using one and finding out my fav spot was a cult ritual holding place.

Rough version, some editing and color correction. Needs something else though.

Actually my first TWO aircraft photos. This was taken with a Kodak camera which had been my dad's in college. The film was manually advanced...which I obviously forgot to do. This was at the amphibian ramp at the Cabrillo Mole , Catalina Island, California (1969).

actually it's no self portrait. my sister shot this one. my grandmas's 80. birthday. most of the time it was pretty much fun.

Actually managed to get out today!! Strange light in Hylands Park today, it was a really brassy coloured light despite the clouds. Processed as a mono image, i think it turned out ok ?

Actually they're pretty familiar with each other. (: Solo and Evvy. (Two v's look like a w in her name, damn)

But no this was still taken with my broken camera. & Now the camera is making every single photo over-exposed as far as lighting goes, so I have to fix the exposure on Picnik. >> Uber annoying. I'm getting the new one at Wal-Mart in a few hours. :D Gonna actually get the T3i instead of the T2i. Very excited to take pictures with it at the Mutt Strut tomorrow.

Actually managed to get it in focus for once!

(actually sweaty girls might be more appropriate)

Actually in the window of a pawn shop. Not sure how much it costs for the neon hammer and sickle.

I actually built something for Droneuary - something that is extremely boilerplate-y, but perhaps can be allowed to live since it rips off enough other people. I was trying to clean up my build area, and started connecting some tablescraps that I'd put together so I'd remember techniques from Bram, LDM, and a few other people, and before long I had part of a cute little drone. I like to think there's a little bit of A Plastic Infinity and Pasakuru 76 in the presentation here too, but I think reality here is a little less than I was aiming for. Good enough to share, anyway, and I actually put a scala vase to good use too.

My photography skills are still terrible, here they're so extreme that my fancy medium azure plates look like medium blue.

My homage to artist Jeffrey Smart. Something distinctly surreal about this. Just so you know - this is not digital - that container was actually there - beautifully placed on a sand dune near a river estuary - why I do not know...but a great surreal moment. I like the continuation of perspective in the small jetty in the distance behind. Resized version added 24/6/06

Actually it is my old boat as this is from 2007

This is actually the original, formal name of the town of Hanover, and thus races did not necessarily take place at or near the courthouse itself. However, the Hanover Tavern website states that the entire courthouse green was used for farmer's markets, gambling, and betting on cockfights and horse races. See results of races here in the American Turf Register and Sporting Magazine, including a May 20, 1796 race in which John Tayloe's Calypso finished 2nd in 2 heats. Johnson & Crookshanks mentioned that she ran in the 1898 Jockey Club Purse here, winning easily after Tayloe bought her primary competitor, Leviathan, and withdrew him from the race. The courthouse was built in 1735, and still stands today (it is also the 3rd oldest courthouse still in use in the US). It is open by appointment but the grounds are accessible year round. The courthouse is most famous for Patrick Henry arguing the Parson's cause case in 1763.
