Making donuts at home can be a delightful experience! Here's a basic recipe for classic fried donuts:
Essential Ingredients:
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110°F / 45°C)
3/4 cup lukewarm milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for rolling)
Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
For Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
Make the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, lukewarm milk, sugar, salt, butter, and egg. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
Knead: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Cut out donuts: Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter or two different-sized round cutters to cut out donuts and holes. Place them on a floured surface and let them rise again until doubled, about 30 minutes.
Fry: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry donuts in batches, turning them once, until golden brown (1-2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
Glaze: Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip the warm donuts into the glaze and let them cool on a wire rack.

FEC train 103 splits the MP 168 intermediates near City Point on their way south to Fort Pierce, FL.
The new main on the right of the train is complete but it has not been activated yet. This extention runs between the new Cocoa Junction control point (this CP still hasn't been activated as well) to CP Frontenac. Frontenac used to be the south end of the Titusville double track and with Brightline’s project occurring, FEC decided to double track this section between Cocoa Junction and Frontenac as it didn't make sense for a small 2-4 mile stretch of single track to remain between the two CPs. This will likely help reduce bottlenecking and traffic slowdowns while the unit train arrives at City Point each weekday morning. For example, the 103 seen here had to wait until 336 and 915 cleared the main before they were able to proceed south.

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina (Sicily);
I made photos related to "street photography";
I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.

ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo mai incontrato prima, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;
ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.

This is the Greater Spotted Woodpecker which I photographed earlier today at Tircoed, Penllegaer Forest, which is located on the outskirts of Swansea in South Wales. These are very shy birds and I waited patiently for about two hours before the Woodpecker made an appearance in circumstances where I could get a clear view of it. He flew off as soon as the shutter on my camera activated. I waited a further two hours for another chance to photograph him but he did not return. Hope you like the image.

An original U.S.-delivery example, with the most desirable “longtail,” “high door,” left-hand-drive configuration of the top of the line, 'Special Roadsters'.
The Special Roadster is the ultimate Mercedes-Benz 540 K. Remarkably, it effectively accommodates only two passengers. Yet, the Sindelfingen designers succeeded in designing a car that looks much smaller and lighter than it is. The gently sloping and instantly recognizable Mercedes-Benz radiator is tucked back at the front wheels’ centerline behind sweeping front fenders. The fenders then dominate the long hood before gently curving up to create the rear fenders, which in turn flow delicately down, wrapping into the tail. Two massive exhaust pipes emerge from the hood’s right side and disappear into the fender, suggesting the power that lurks inside.
With it's 180 hp, 5,401 cc OHV inline eight-cylinder engine with driver-activated Roots-type supercharger, the Mercedes-Benz 540 K was one of the most prestigious and, in the eyes of many, the most beautiful automobile of the interwar years. Its combination of power, light weight, and sheer beauty made it the master of the road, It was also breathtakingly expensive, guaranteeing exclusivity among its owners; just 419 chassis were built, and of those, only a handful carried the superlative longtail Spezial Roadster coachwork that may well have been the high point of the coachbuilder’s art at Mercedes-Benz’s own Sonderwagenbau in Sindelfingen.
Exceptionally priced at 28,000 Reichsmark, or about $12,000 US at the prevailing exchange rate, the Special Roadster was priced by New York importer Mitropa Motors at about $14,000 landed in the United States—about 40 percent more than the most expensive catalogue-bodied Cadillac V-16. As a result, only a mere handful of supercharged eight-cylinder Mercedes-Benz automobiles sold in the United States were Special Roadsters.

All the photos I present were taken on the two suggestive beaches overlooking Taormina, the Isola Bella beach and the Mazzarò bay beach respectively; these two beaches, both known for their enchanting beauty, have been the scene of stories that few know, time has only partially healed ancient tears; Mazzarò was chosen by a family of unfortunate Jews made up of four people, who, persecuted by the Nazi-Fascist ferocity, decided to commit suicide by tying all four together with a rope, then weighed down with stones, they let themselves slip from a boat into the deep waters near the Mazzarò rock, called “Scogghia Longa”; the "Isola Bella" (its original name was "rock of Santo Stefano") was named by an English noblewoman, Lady Florence Trevelyan, a relative of Queen Victoria, who did so much for Taormina (a woman of truly extraordinary qualities), tells of a young English officer who died on a ship on which he was embarked, a Brigantine who patrolled the Strait of Messina to discourage Napoleonic soldiers from disembarking from Calabria in Sicily, the captain out of respect for the Royal Family (to which, let's remember, Lady Florence belonged), instead of entrusting her body to the sea as was the custom at the time, she had it buried on top of the island. I made photos related to "beach photography" (a genre similar to "street photography"); I have photographed young and old people… with a great desire for the sea and a great desire to dive into the water to do some swimming; I made some photo-portraits of people I did not know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking on the beaches ... in search of fleeting fleeting moments ...

Hey guys! Haven't posted in awhile.. been very busy with school, homework, youth group, and some "college" related stuff. :P
I know I nearly always say this, but I have lots of projects I'm working on that should be completed soon. These figs aren't anything that special, just wanted to upload them for the sake of uploading them before I take them apart. Nice to upload again too :)

We live in strange times, we are already talking about phase 3 in Italy, in other parts of the world the covid-19 emergency continues to inexorably wipe out very high numbers of victims, in China itself, the emergency seemed to be behind them now, it comes back currently the fear of new outbreaks of the pandemic.
In our house, in Italy, to give an example of recent news, we witness the happiness of the Neapolitan fans on the streets of Naples crowded with the fans who took to the streets to celebrate the victory over Juventus in the Italian Cup final: unfortunately they forgetting the most elementary prudence rules, such as wearing a protective mask (protecting oneself and others at the same time), and respecting social distancing (perhaps better to say, personal distancing, also in this case protecting oneself but also others). From June 15 (until July 14) "phase three" has started, a phase that involves a series of reopenings, and greater freedom to travel abroad, albeit with a series of prohibitions and limitations, such as wearing the mask in closed places, the ban on gathering in public places, and the obligation of social distancing of at least one meter, even if there are differences between the different regions.
The photos I present here to the Flickr audience are recent, taken from the beginning of June this year, as a theme the rediscovery of the freedom and joy of life of those who have long loved to bathe in the beautiful waters of eastern Sicily , fulcrum Taormina and surroundings. Part of the images are "blurred", they were deliberately made during the shooting phase, using a longer exposure time, not using post-production techniques .
Viviamo tempi strani, da noi in Italia già si parla di fase 3, in altre parti del mondo l’emergenza covid-19 continua a falcidiare inesorabilmente numeri altissimi di vittime, nella stessa Cina, l’emergenza sembrava essere oramai alle spalle, si ripresenta attualmente il timore di nuove recrudescenze della pandemia.
In casa nostra, in Italia, per fare un esempio di cronaca recente, assistiamo alla felicità dei tifosi napoletani per le strade di Napoli affollate con i tifosi scesi in piazza per festeggiare la vittoria sulla Juventus nella finale di Coppa Italia: purtroppo dimenticando le più elementari norme di prudenza, come l’indossare la mascherina protettiva (proteggendo se stessi e contemporaneamente gli altri), ed il rispettare il distanziamento sociale (forse meglio dire, il distanziamento personale, anche in questo caso proteggendo se stessi ma anche gli altri). Dal 15 giugno (fino al 14 luglio) ha preso il via la “fase tre”, fase che comporta una serie di riaperture, ed una maggiore libertà di viaggi all’estero, seppur con una serie di divieti e limitazioni, come l’indossare la mascherina nei luoghi chiusi, il divieto di assembramento nei luoghi pubblici, e l’obbligo di distanziamento sociale di almeno un metro, anche se vi sono differenze tra le diverse regioni.
Le foto che qui presento alla visione del pubblico di Flickr sono recenti, realizzate dall’inizio del mese di giugno di quest’anno, come tema la riscoperta libertà e gioia di vivere di coloro che già da tempo amano bagnarsi nelle splendide acque della Sicilia orientale, fulcro Taormina e dintorni. Parte delle immagini sono “mosse-sfuocate-confuse”, esse sono state realizzate volutamente in fase di scatto (il termine generico “blurred” le racchiude tutte), ricorrendo ad un tempo di esposizione più lungo, non ricorrendo a tecniche di post-produzione.

Bots (Augmented, Robotic, Companions). The A.R.C. Bots will be a new line of robots for the station, each built on the same A.I. and physical frameworks. Each bot is augmented to handle specific tasks and each with their own unique personality subroutines. They are highly intelligent and able to adapt to any situation. With their unique personalities it is hoped that they will more easily and naturally work with their human counterparts. All the while having one program to supersede all the rest; the preservation of human life.
EX-K1T or K1T if you prefer is an exploration bot. His primary function will be to assist Nova Team on their expeditions into deep space. More in the future on each type of A.R.C. Bot and what their primary job and features will be.

So this is what I've been working up to! Finally! ;-) I hope you all like the A.R.C. Bots. I'm pretty happy how they turned out. In my next few photos, I'll show off the different models of bots. Both as action shots as well in a cleaner way so you can see what I used to put them together in a LEGO sense. I had a clear goal when I starting building them, I wanted them to be simple builds, each having the same basic structure, while each having their own unique look and personality and for them to be not too much larger than minifigures. I’m pretty surprised the amount of poseability I got out of these guys despite their small scale, which is super helpful for my photography!
For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.
