The reason I wasn't on Flickr this week: I moved the biggest bulk of my gi joe/ action man collection to my appartement last weekend, and spend the rest of the week sorting stuff out. Still have to pick up all my vehicles, but it's allready becoming a cool little 'museum' :D
Figure is a 40th Anniversary GI Joe Sailor.
The Only post-processing of photo is slight cropping.
Flare was made with a small flashlight covered with a red candy wrapper and a 25 second exposure.

A USAF Air Policeman guards a hangar containing an experimental jet.
This is one of several photos where I depict a USAF policeman as accurately as possible using only Hasbro parts.
Figures and all items are Hasbro's GI Joe 40th anniversary...except for the blue Navy Attack helmet...that's from Cotswold/Elitebrigade.

I been through a serious creative drought with the lego-building, and started as an assistant outfitter for a gang of actionmen instead. A friend of mine makes realistic models in sixthscale for her actionmen, and I help with knitted garments.
Here, agent Cooper is showing his new aransweater and hat, made with very thin wool and 1mm diameter knitting needles.
And...I’ve finally got some new ideas for MOCs!

Sometimes a good old black an white photograph feels right.
Another Palitoy Action Man photograph. I haven't photographed this guy that much, but paradoxically it is one of my favourite items to shoot. Maybe it's the bigger scale that makes it feel interesting in between all the Lego photographs. Or perhaps it's simply a great item to photograph, no deeper explanation needed.

I wasn't real happy with my first session with my Vietnam styled GI Joe Soldiers. So, here is Take 2. I'm much happier with this group.
This is the same group photographed earlier, all 40th Hasbro parts except: Helmets and Tan belts are Elitebrigade, weapons are all 40th Action Man and beret is from the Timeless Collection Green Beret GI Joe.

This is a bad photo, but it sure looked like it could have been a war-time photograph to me...so I turned it into an old combat photo.

A 12" custom inspired by Shindana Toys' 'Slade' figure of the 1970's. Based on a Cotswolds Collectibles Mike head with flocking by the aptly named Flocktastic (4mm hair, 2mm sideburns & 'tache). Tried to keep the costume pretty simple and as 70's toys-like as my parts box would allow.
"Finally," sighs Professor Gangrene, "I have found a purpose for this worthless robot!"

I can totally understand why anyone in the UK who grew up with the original 60's-80's Action Man would hate this guy, he is a very poor substitute for the original. However, if I'd been a kid when these toys were out, I think I would've gobbled them right up! There were a few sets that I think were pretty cool.
That said, I've always had sort of a soft spot for him and especially for his colorful rogues gallery. I've had Dr. X figure for years, but it's about time I added his opposite number. I have an interesting idea for a photo story involving this guy that I will hopefully be working on relatively soon.
Enemy of the Action Man Space Rangers... and the beginning of the end for the once proud Palitoy brand.
My not complete European TF figs. Every kid I know who owned TF Psyche Out, didn't like him. (they all got him as a present or in a lot from a jumble sale or something). He was frequently melted, tortured and dismembered. I'm the only one I know, who didn't broke him haha :D
