The Karnataka Forest Department has set up 10 artificial 'floating islands' in Madiwala Lake, one of the oldest lakes in Bengaluru's southern section. These islands as raft-like structures that are built with PVC and PET bottles as the frame and mesh and coir as the actual body. The 'islands' are fitted with plants that absorb chemicals like nitrates from the water, reducing their concentration.
Built in 1993 and delivered to Canadian Airlines (later absorbed by Air Canada), this early A320 is towed out for engine runs at Dublin. The aircraft was stored in the USA for over two years, from April 2020 to May 2022, before being ferried to Dublin for maintenance, hence its faded appearance.
The spore capsules of moss rise from beneath their parental mat, and absorb the moisture from an afternoon rain.

"we absorb your fear, it brims like a wild stream
sweat drops on your forehead
you look aside, seeing grinning darkness
we caught you in the net of branches
you hear how the woods speak?
silent whispers in the shapeless kingdom of shadows
we lured you into our trap, restlessly gloating
step after step, demise's laughter
enchanted delirium, touch of the twilight children"

Austra is the daughter of Noor and Liara of Rowensdale. She was raised by the retired Unseelie Queen when her egg, which was not supposed to hatch, ended up cracking its shell and giving her life. She has a twin she can never meet, Brida, both sharing the same life, but only if they live apart.

Absorb the horror, Embrace the beauty. And tell me all you dream.
Whispers of wind, Glows of light, tell me with all your might.
I'll hold your secrets and light your night.

Being absorbed by the Canadian Pacific nearly a quarter century ago, the Soo Line name that adorned EMD's for so long is getting harder to find, let alone bracketed by class.

I was delighted to get my first really good view of this colourful member of the crow family in woodland at Titchfield Haven. Absorbed, initially, with pecking at its lichen-covered perch, it soon slipped off into cover when it became aware of my presence.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Bathed in gorgeous spring sunlight from behind, I had plenty of time to compose and frame the shot as she was so absorbed in her mobile that the world around her went unnoticed. Enjoy!
This is a daily trip they do, out in the morning, back in the evening. You only see the amazing quantity of rooks when they are in the air; When they settle in their nests, the trees just absorb them - although they betray themselves with the noise! This was last year. There only seems to be a fraction of these this year. I wonder where they have all gone??

Absorbed in our devices, with our gazes lost, are we able to see each other anymore? Or have WE become the mannequins, just there to be looked at but without being really there?

Recently we went to a secluded beach north of Santa Cruz, California, called Panther Beach. My friend's kid is delightful and has a happy character. Here he is absorbed in playing with sand. He has down syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, a genetic disorder caused by the presence of a third copy of the 21st chromosome. Special needs kid? It surely does not feel like, being around his delightful character.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves to pop the scene.

Los viejos palomares castellanos están heridos de muerte y se resisten a ser absorbidos por el paso del tiempo.
Feisty little birds. Male Anna's hummingbird. Interestingly (at least to me) the feathers of that red gorget don't actually have any pigment at all. They're iridescent. The surface of the feathers have tiny bubbles that reflect some wavelengths of light, and absorb others. In the case of the Anna's hummingbird, the gorget reflects red and the body feathers reflect green. Nature is pretty cool
I had the chance to read the new chapters of the Neverending Story yesterday at:

I was immediately absorbed in the narrative of the Lost Artist and very happy to explore the sim closer soon.
Big thanks and kudos to Jayden Mercury.

20 years ago this month the Chicago and Northwestern was absorbed by the Union Pacific. Today 2 untouched CNW locomotives remain, sort of original heritage units that UP has held aside from any patching. Here one of those locomotives leads CSX train Q171 West just outside of Albion, Indiana on the CSX Garrett Sub.
