I received a lovely absinthe set for my birthday back in December. I know that traditionally you aren't supposed to light the sugar cube on fire, but sometimes you just want a little spectacle. This time the sugar cube broke apart and fell through the absinthe spoon whilst still on fire, setting the entire glass ablaze. Not a bad effect, there.

La verdad es que es el modelo para los pendientes, pero queda maravillosamente bien como gargantilla y colgante pequeñito. Las facetadas de 4 y 6 mm son de Beads Perles Boutique.

Oh, and that's not actually absinthe... I'm still saving that for a special occasion. It's just creme de menthe with a little water.

4 of 365/2 - Last night I had some friends over to share cigars and absinthe (the notorious green cocktail from the Belle Epoch). You pour a shot of absinthe into a glass, place a slotted spoon over the glass with a sugar cube or two on the spoon. Then you place very cold ice-water into the fountain and allow the water to drip slowly over the sugar into the glass at a ratio of 3 or 5:1. Quite tasty if you like anise. Happy to report no one cut off their ear.

I've wanted to do some still life work and this gave me a chance to begin.

Gift from a friend. Have anyone prepared Absinthe before? I heard you are supposed to use a sugar cube and water.

Not so tough now is he. No names, but we like to call him Hasse, he lives at Villa Blåmes in Norrby. When the Grande Absente bottle suddenly stood on the table Hasse was up for a shot. Minutes later not so much. After that one first sip the rest of the strong stuff were tossed away.
