Fortress Days - an annual multi-day event since 1979. Most popular are the many steam engines from England but also the many historic vehicles such as cars, trucks, tractors, agricultural machines, military vehicles, fire engines and buses. Furthermore, activities such as a fair, model and parts market, mineral and fossil show, and organ concerts. There is also plenty to do on the water and in the air, such as short boattrips, a naval parade, helicopter demonstrations and a fireworks show. This with music from various bands and artists and with about 200.000 visitors in total a well attended event.

The traditional Christmas tree burning in Hellevoetsluis is always a very nice event. It starts with the Christmas tree hunt for the children to earn lottery tickets. The municipality as an organizer collects about 1000 Christmas trees that are burned as a large fire under the supervision of the fire brigade on the Zuidfront or Land van Paling. It attracts more and more visitors over the years, children win some nice prizes with the raffle tickets and the atmosphere is very nice. It is actually also the warm welcome of the year, especially with the glow of the fire of 1300 degrees Celsius.

Sleeping Beauty Castle - completed in 1992, for the park's 12 April opening, Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant stands 50 meters (160 ft) tall. The Castle is home to a dragon, which, at 27 meters (89 ft) from head to tail, was the largest Animatronic figure yet built when the park opened in April 1992. The walkthrough attraction consists of a dimly lit cavern with the large dragon sleeping silently. Occasionally it will 'wake up', puffing smoke and growling. The building also contains La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant, a gallery of displays which illustrate the story of Sleeping Beauty in tapestries, stained glass windows and figures. Thermes de Spa - in the 16th century, the commercialization of the thermal baths began and many spa guests came to Spa. The first bathing establishment was built in 1764 and the city became known as a health resort. A health resort (German: Kurort, English: spa) is a tourist resort that focuses on relaxation and recreation, but with a medical emotional value. A stay in a spa is considered beneficial for health due to medicinal springs, in this case the iron and carbonated water of the thermal baths of Spa, but also the healthy air. In Nivezé there are three springs of which the water is used for the thermal baths of Spa: Marie-Henriette spring, Tonnelet spring and Wellington spring. The term Spa has become a generic term for spa tourism in English and some other languages.
In 1764, the first bathing establishment was built in Spa and the city became known as a health resort, so in 1774 the second casino in Europe was also opened. In the second half of the 19th century, the thermal infrastructure was built as it still exists today. Capture of Brielle - Procession
April 1st, 1572 - the capture of Brielle by the Watergeuzen. A turning point in the uprising of the Low Countries against Spain in the Eighty Years' War. Militarily the success was minor as the port of Brielle was poorly defended by the Spanish, but it provided the first foothold on land for the rebels at a time when the rebellion was all but crushed, and it offered the sign for a new revolt throughout the Netherlands which led to the formation of the Dutch Republic.
The Watergeuzen were led by William van der Marck, Lord of Lumey, and by two of his captains, Willem Bloys van Treslong and Lenaert Jansz de Graeff. After they were expelled from England by Elizabeth I, they needed a place to shelter their 25 ships. As they sailed towards Brielle, they were surprised to find out that the Spanish garrison led by the Spanish "Iron" Duke of Alva protagonists was poorly defended. On the evening of April 1 in 1572, the 600 men sacked the port, rammed the city gates, defeated the Spanish soldiers and liberated Brielle as the first Dutch city in the Netherlands from de Spanish .
Nowadays a very popular annual UNESCO event with lots of Watergeuzen, Spanish soldiers and medieval dressed people in a city center all dressed up just like then on that historical day.

Catastrophe Canyon - a rocky area with a fuel truck and water tanks inside of it. While the tram was stopped, filming starts suddenly. An earthquake shakes the tram and causes the fuel truck to explode, sending a fire ball into the air. Then a flood of water comes rushing down from the canyon and from above the tram.
When the earthquake subsides and the water stops, the set would then begin to reset for the next tram and the host on the tram tells guests how it was done as the tram travels behind the set to show the back of the production.

Steam engines - very impressive!. Many historic steam engines, impressive, large and hissing, and beautifully lit in the evening. Not only were they parked somewhere but they also drove around the old city center which got a lot of attention from the public. The sound of the steam whistles has long been the typical sound for another summer edition of the Vestingdagen event.

The Vestingdagen (Fortress Days) in Hellevoetsluis, an annual multi-day event since 1979. Very popular and with lots of activities in and around the former naval base of the Netherlands. With many historic and vintage ships and vehicles, steam engines, fair and market, various types of demonstrations in the air and ofcourse on the water. Also, lots to do like short boattrips, visit the various musea, watch the naval parade and fireworks show late at night. With about 200.000 visitors in total a well attended event.

Molly Brown - the name of the boat comes from a Titanic survivor named Margaret Brown nicknamed Molly after her death. The Molly Brown is a side wheeler (wheels on each side of the boat), a steamboat with paddle wheel on the edges. The ride takes only 12 minutes but the views at the surrounding area are very, very nice.

In the village of the gnomes.
There are several gnome houses in the Fairytale Forest. Beautiful large mushrooms, designed by the designers Anton Pieck, Ton van de Ven and Henny Knoet and built between 1952 and 1980. They blend naturally into the surrounding park. The many paths and corridors around and in the mushrooms are a favorite with children who are looking for even more (moving) gnomes.
The music that a gnome plays on his spinet somewhere can be heard in many places. He plays Menuet in G major (Per Jocum. Opus II, Latin: "Just for fun, second work"), which is a well-known tune for many visitors.
