yesterday morning, high tide and all still and shimmery
taken just before attending a really fabulous photography workshop hosted by PhotoAlliance and held at Launch For Hire, and old boathouse that i've driven past a million times while doing my research at Point Reyes -- so wonderful to actually see it from the inside!
the workshop was led by Luis Delgado, & focused on strategies for presenting one's photo work and getting it seen -- very informative and helpful, & a fantastic group of people.

"When that fat old sun in the sky is falling
Summer evening, birds are calling.
Children's laughter in my ears
The last sunlight disappears...."
- Pink Floyd
'Fat Old Sun'
Sights, smells and sounds of Tokyo, Norway and New York have been knitted into this scarf. When it's finished I will be able to wear it and remember the places we've been and the things we've seen.
David Nash w.wiki/ATZS makes sculptures which stay in the landscape. For example, Ash Dome is a ring of ash trees he planted in 1977 and trained to form a domed shape. The dome is sited at a secret location somewhere in Snowdonia and whenever it is filmed, crews are taken there by a circuitous route to guard its security.

taking a short break from christmas photos, to something more recent -- taken this morning off my back porch, very misty again...
and i'm in a dilemma here -- my landlord told me last week that he going to be selling this property (he's in foreclosure on it) -- the sale will likely several months or even longer, and it's possible the new owners will want to keep me on as a tenant -- but it's all rather uncertain at this point.
and this morning i went to look at another cottage for rent, which i REALLY liked -- interior not as charming as this one, but the exterior/location is AMAZING (a 12 acre vineyard, up on a ridge with gorgeous views) -- and now i don't know what to do, stay & hope for the best, or move now & be done with it?
It's like ATZ. I cannot get over it. And that orange-red, to die for!
Maybe more of a description later. Maybe not.
a lifeguard leads a pack of nippers into the sea for some safety training, whilst one group of people stands in the waves waiting.
one of the many good things about being toward the front of the fleet (we finished 9th out of more than 150 finishers) is looking back at all the colorful spinnakers behind us...
went out strolling with nick and cate yesterday, after our ritual burgers and beers... SUCH a lovely afternoon

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Keico whilst visiting Tokyo. We went on a day trip to Yokohama, saw the sights, took photos. That's my kind of holiday.
If you don't know Keico, he sure to check out her photos.
