part of jeff hutton's great polaroid giveaway project -- he mailed me one of his polaroids, asking that i photograph it here & send back the file.
mine arrived yesterday, a brick-and-vine scene from (i'm assuming) brooklyn, and i decided to try to photograph it within my own rural-esque landscape -- but the only workable way i could figure it out was using a reflection of the landscape instead.
the mysterious pale figure in the bottom right corner is the beast of a dilapidated trailer on our property -- edge of my porch is on the left. the window used to be a bathroom window, but it was replaced with double-panes before i moved in, & since then it's been leaning against the wall of the house, and seemed like a good perch for this bit of brooklyn.
i couldn't get the cross-pieces of the window straight without blocking the reflected view, but perhaps crooked works better anyway.
the sun's out this morning & it's feeling spring-ish (after yesterday's cold blustery winter downpour!)

I've been experimenting with Polaroid's ATZ film. I'm not crazy about the results, but there's something about the faded timelessness of it that puts me in mind of TS Eliot....
"Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable...."

Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 1 + ATZ (Expired)
Artistic Time Zero from the Impossible Project - taken this year, in the grounds of Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye. It was a glorious sunny day! I think it's the expired nature of this pack of film that leads to all the snowy bobbly effects and the (even weirder) colour shifts. The ATZ shots on the Western Isles last year are beginning to develop the bobbly bits too, even though the prints are kept in a cool dark place.
not the best photo i ever took, but amazing colors, especially since this was a hard freeze, about 20°F out that morning...
