A trip to Kiev might not be very obvious, but the capital of Ukraine will surprise you in many ways. In the center you will find stately houses and beautiful cathedrals, attractive alleys and large squares with trendy restaurants. A city with an impressive history where so much can be seen. Kiev arose on the river Dnieper, on the trade route to the Greeks. Kiev experienced its heyday between around 900, when it was the capital of the East Slavic Empire. For the next six centuries, Kiev was no more than a provincial town in the Russian Empire. It was not until 1991 that Ukraine became independent of the Soviet Union. In 2004, Kiev was the scene of fierce protest demonstrations against the falsification of the election results. This period is known as the Orange Revolution. In 2014 there were again demonstrations against the government of President Viktor Yanukovych on Independence Square: Maidan Nezalezhnosti, the undisputed heart of the city. Here you will find monuments, an underground mall and street artists, as well as reminders of the EuroMaidan revolution. The Saint Sophia Cathedral is one of the most famous Ukrainian monuments on the World Heritage List. It was build in the 11th century and was the burial place of the rulers of the Kyiv Empire. Under the anti-religious policy of the Soviet Union, they wanted the cathedral to be demolished, but after protest from historians, it was turned into a museum of architecture and history. It is still a museum to this day.

Kiev is the hidden jewel of Eastern Europe and fast becoming the coolest capital city in Europe. Geographically, Kiev sits at the centre of Europe. In reality it feels like an entirely different world. Kiev is an ancient city where old meets new and East meets West. We stayed at the fine «Ukraine» hotel located in the heart of Kyiv - on the Independence Square, in a unique place where the cultural, political and entertainment life of the city intersects. The Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kiev is an outstanding architectural monument and one of the city's best known landmarks and the first World Heritage site in Ukraine. XXII Mercado Medieval de La Adrada

Attractive bird found in a variety of semiopen and lightly wooded habitats, mainly in drier areas of the Andes, as well as across the lowlands from northern Argentina to southern Brazil. Forages low to high in shrubs and trees. Male is colorful, with a bright blue head and yellow underparts and rump; back is greenish in Chile and north in the Andes to Ecuador, but black in eastern lowlands. Female is rather drab and is best identified by stout bill and presence of males.

A very shy Elaine in her 20s and me just last week and now in my mid 60s. I started dressing when I was perhaps 10 years old and the desire has never left me. I'm so glad I managed to keep lots of photos from those distant lonely days when I was trying to be a young lady.

What we have here is a bad girl in a dress that is nigh on indecent.

I took one look at this in Pinks and had to try it on. I didn't think my chances of making it look good were much above negligible, but I went ahead out of sheer narcissism. It seemed likely that I would look too awful to open the curtain in the changing room. Rather amazingly, it looked pretty good when I checked in the mirror. And the response from the people at Pink's confirmed that - it's not like they are into the hard sell.

So I bought it and, after hunting around, found some shoes that matched.

So what does a girl do when she finds that her dress barely covers her bottom and reveals her stocking tops at the front with even the slightest of movement? Well, she moves very carefully, of course, which is a lovely thing to have to concentrate on, making you feel girlie and look girlier.

Or, she could just dance and let it all hang out. That feels good too.

And it did.

I love to watch her when she's sleeping.
