Came across this beautiful place at the weekend. Admission is by ticket only. We just admired from afar, but will return soon.
On Explore September 5th, currently #198 many thanks.
Growing in my garden but native to Queensland and New South Wales. The foliage is soft, silky -hairy. Attractive green and reddish flowers that are so attractive to nectar feeding birds. Growing between one and two metres ( 3-6ft ). Hard to find these days which is a pity as it is so attractive.
Ecuador
Attractive bird found in a variety of semiopen and lightly wooded habitats, mainly in drier areas of the Andes, as well as across the lowlands from northern Argentina to southern Brazil. Usually in pairs or small groups, not with mixed-species flocks. Forages low to high in shrubs and trees. Male is colourful, with a bright blue head and yellow underparts and rump; back is greenish in Chile and north in the Andes to Ecuador, but black in eastern lowlands. Female is rather drab and is best identified by stout bill and presence of males.
THANK YOU for your visits, comments and favourites
I am also one of the tourists to find these yellow-legged gulls attractive :)
Yellow-legged and large white-headed gull is a large gull of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. It weights around 1200g and the wingspan varies between 138 to 155cm.

Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.
Wisteria is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae (Leguminosae), that includes ten species of woody climbing vines that are native to China, Korea, Japan, and the Eastern United States. Some species are popular ornamental plants. Wisterias climb by twining their stems around any available support. The flowers are produced in pendulous racemes 10 to 80 cm long, similar to those of the genus Laburnum, but are purple, violet, pink or white. There is no yellow on the leaves. Flowering is in spring (just before or as the leaves open) in some Asian species, and in mid to late summer in the American species and W. japonica. The flowers of some species are fragrant. Wisteria, especially Wisteria sinensis, is very hardy and fast-growing. It can grow in fairly poor-quality soils, but prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil. It thrives in full sun. 17842

(Poisonous wild plant, appreciated by the birds!)
Pretty attractive bird, just such a demon for me to photograph. Maybe my equipment, though probably just me, but I find these and other small active birds so very hard to capture. Ah well, keeps me off the streets.

A macro of the popular Australian native flower, the Grevillea, noted for its attractive and shapely "tendrils".
Attractive black-and-yellow oriole of humid tropical lowlands. Favours forest edge, plantations, semi-open areas with tall hedges and flowering trees. Often in flowering trees with other species of orioles. Plumage rather variable, but note the rather small, slightly decurved bill. Male has black head and back in Mexico and northern Central America, female has black face and greenish back. Sexes look alike in southern Central America. Not especially vocal.
Most of my Costa Rican birds have been photographed at Tico Rainforest B&B. Here, the owner, Victor has documented over 200 different species on his small 2 hectare property.
An attractive small toucan of tropical lowland forest and edge. Usually found in small groups moving through the canopy of fruiting trees or seen flying, one at a time, across clearings and between trees. Flight rather direct and fast, when long-tailed and long-billed shape is distinctive. Note the yellow body with red and black markings, and the serrated pattern on the big bill.
One of the most attractive views in Oxford is the Great Tower of Magdalen College particularly when seen from the Botanical Gardens across the High Street .
Construction of Magdalen's Great Tower began in 1492 by stonemason, William Raynold. It might have been intended to replace an existing belfry remaining from the hospital, and probably was originally envisioned to stand alone. By the time it was completed in 1509, additional buildings had been built either side, creating the roughly triangular Chaplain's quad between the chapel and the High.
The tower contains a peal of ten bells hung for English change ringing. They were cast at a number of different foundries and the heaviest, weighing 17 cwt, was cast in 1623.
The tower is 144 feet tall and an imposing landmark on the eastern approaches to the city centre. It forms the centre of the May Morning celebrations in Oxford, from which the choir sing pieces including the Hymnus Eucharisticus and the Dean of Divinity blesses the University, city, and crowds.

Zygaena filipendulae (Sechsfleck-Widderchen, six-spot burnet) Klosterneuburg. The lavender was full of moth couples when I got up in the morning.
It's not the biggest but it's possibly the most attractive waterfall in Iceland.
By the way, say hello to my fellow photographer Steve (top left) who chose a slightly more precarious vantage point than I did.
According to the ever-reliable Wikipedia:
"Selfoss is a waterfall on the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum in the north of Iceland. The river drops over a number of waterfalls over about 30 km before flowing into Öxarfjörður, a bay of the Arctic Sea.
The river originates as melt water from the glacier Vatnajökull and therefore the water flow varies depending on the season, the weather and volcanic activity."
