The Austin, Todd and Ladd was founded in 1985 to take over the trackage of the short-lived North Central Oklahoma Railway including nearly 40 miles of the Rock Island's former Choctaw Route between Geary and El Reno, Oklahoma. It is named after the founder's grandchildren.
In this scene, the AT&L is in operation as it navigates over a wooden trestle near Calumet, Oklahoma with a loaded grain train from Watonga. The lead engine is a chopped-nose ex-Southern GP38-2, distinguished by the bell placement on the long hood.

I do not think I have ever paid attention to the fact that turtles have nostrils before I took some close-up images of turtles sunbathing near a pond at the San Diego State University campus. 😂

This moth, Automeris liberia, was on a moth sheet at the lodge. When its wings are closed it resembles a dried leaf. The open wings show "eyes" which probably evolved as a defense against predators.

The vervet monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus), or simply vervet, is an Old World monkey of the family Cercopithecidae native to Africa.
They are arboreal monkeys, which means that they spend much of their lives in the trees. Because they are arboreal, you are likely to find vervet monkeys climbing and jumping in the forests and wooded areas near rivers and streams.
A vervet monkey's long arms and long tail help it move quickly and safely through the trees to search for food and locate members of its troop. Vervet monkeys are omnivores, which means they eat other animals as well as plants. Some of their favorite foods include leaves, flowers, fruit, insects, eggs, and small birds. You might have noticed that these foods all have something in common - they can be found in the trees!

Today we went at the Races to see some Thoroughbreds horses and see if we could bring one to the Ranch. The horses were all pretty but one really catche my eyes, it was a chestnut mare, she looked lively and hot-blooded, maybe even had some bite problems as we noticed she had a muzzle, anyway, she was pretty and I wanted her home !

Along Sunda Kelapa Harbor you could see Phinisi ships in a line, which have unique shape and the body painted in some different colors. Phinisi ships were coming from many regions of Indonesia, carrying logs, rattan, copra and other agricultural products to Jakarta.
When Phinisi goes back from Jakarta, it carries construction materials like steel and cement. You could see the hectic of loading and unloading activities that is still conducted traditionally at Sunda Kelapa.

According to Wikipedia, the enclosed Bridge of Sighs bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo (officially there are only three canals in Venice, the rest are "rios") and connects the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace (here on the left) to the New Prison. The bridge was designed by Antoni Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte had designed the Rialto Bridge, and was built in 1602. The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells. In reality, the days of inquisitions and summary executions were over by the time the bridge was built and the cells under the palace roof were occupied mostly by small-time criminals. In addition, little could be seen from inside the bridge due to the stone grills covering the windows.
This image was captured from a bridge on the Riva degli Schiavoni shortly after 11 PM (after the day trippers have left) and Venice has become manageable again. During the day the bridge from where this image was captured is packed with street merchants selling most anything and with tourists on the way to and from St. Mark's square.

This was a bit of a rush job after getting stuck in 2 traffic jams so we just made it with only a couple of minutes to get the pole up .
Early morning colourful aerial seascape with clouds at Terrigal Lagoon and Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
At a local park I was thrilled to find some black irises. These mysterious beauties look absolutely black before they open. And even once they are open, you can see in the top of the side petal how dark they are - unless you can catch them when the sun's rays are very low and they light up like stained glass.
After waiting some time because of a couple of 10mph slow orders just out of Pierre, RCHU finally rolled under the bridge at Rosseau and left the Missouri River valley to head uphill to Blunt.
There were a few tense moments as we watched the clouds get bigger and more numerous as the train approached. It had been one of those kinds of trips but the railfan gods smiled on us for this shot. We had apparently suffered enough.
I know, it was better with RSD5's but this will have to do...
