Apparently, when a robin or any other bird from what I've been told drops it's wings like this, it's totally at ease in it's surroundings. That makes it much easier to photograph and get close to.
At the seaside village of Kala Nera on the Pelion peninsula in Greece, there takes place an annual event on Ascension Day, where horses from nearby villages arrive to be dipped in the sea and to be blessed by the priest.
It seems the Rihanna Tree isn't photographed as much lately. Back in 2013 popstar Rihanna was forced to disrupt the video shoot for her hit single "We Found Love" in this field when she was told to put on more clothes by the land owner. So from then this tree has been known as "The Rihanna Tree"

Like large, haunting eyes peering out the depths, this massive rock holds prominence at Face Rock State Park in Bandon, OR.
The road from Hobart, Tasmania down to the notorious convict prison and hell of Port Arthur* on the Tasman Peninsula passes through some very pretty land and seascapes. One special spot is the town of Dunalley which sits on one of the two very narrow necks of the Peninsula where you can see the sea both sides. In fact, at Dunalley, they have cut the Denison Canal through one isthmus to shorten what would otherwise be a rather long alternative sea route right around the Tasman Peninsula and the Forestier Peninsula. It's an extremely lovely area especially on the eastern side which is called East Bay (of course)! It has a marina and mooring for fishing boats, some of which can be seen here in the early winter sun. The road crosses the canal on an unusual swing bridge to allow boat traffic to cross from the Tasman Sea in the east to the bays that surround Hobart.
As it happens, a boat passed through the canal when we were there. A link below takes you to a shot where you can see the canal and swing bridge. Google earth tells me that the inner side of the canal and associated coastline form a wide and sandy beach.

The main transmission building, building A. Also known as the Cathedral.
During WWI, an independent radio link with the Dutch Indies (former Indonesia) became increasingly important. For example all messages via the sea cable, were censured by the British during the war. To obtain independence in these communications, a large transmitter station was built in 1917, in the Malabar Gorge near Bandung on the island of Java. For the Dutch counterpart of this radio link, a suitable location was found on the sand dunes near the village of Kootwijk. Architect Luthmann made a complete design for this establishment. In 1920 the construction started for the actual transmitter building, which is entirely constructed from armoured concrete, a novelty in those days.
It is at the same time, in the early 1920’s, that the actual village “Radio Kootwijk” developed, involving a hotel, administrative buildings and some 40 residential houses for employees. At the present day this unique village with its 120 inhabitants looks back at a history of about 90 years.
The State owned Postal and Telegraph company (PTT) began utilising Radio Kootwijk in 1923 for long wave telegraph transmissions. The equipment was installed in Building A, which is also dubbed as “The Cathedral”. Within about five years, short wave radio signals were used for these transmissions because these were less vulnerable to atmospheric noise. The first actual radio communication with the Dutch Indies, started in 1928, with the historical words: “Hello Bandung, here Kootwijk”. These historical words. are still iconic for many Dutchmen nowadays.
After WWII, the gradually improving quality of sea cable connections saw a decline in the role of Radio Kootwijk as cornerstone for intercontinental telephone and telegraph communications. From 1970, Radio Kootwijk supported maritime communications for the “Radio Scheveningen” station, in particular for long-distance communication with vessels at large. Because of later technological developments such as satellite communication, Radio Kootwijk further lost its significance. Transmission stopped entirely in 1998.

At last, the light I'd been hoping for before autumn's over. This is my favourite little beech copse again, and the Photoshop process was the same as before, viz:
Add duplicate layer in photoshop.
Add motion blur at 90 degrees, about 600 px.
Add layer mask.
Use the brush tool to remove blur from foreground (100% at the front, a bit less as you go back).
The purpose of the layer mask is so that if you remove the wrong amount of blur you can reverse the action by putting the black on top instead of the white and using the brush tool again.
Daybreak at Snettisham sees the spectacle of thousands of birds catching the first light as they swirl and curl, twist and turn between each graceful rise and fall.

A first run at this object with my own setup, guided exposures. Guiding graph was quite exceptional with RMS error at 0.03" then later 0.07" but I tossed away 1/2 my lights over 2 nights due to some trailing at the edges. Discovered this was due to the reducer slightly unscrewed. Some high cloud in a couple of the shots made the seeing wobbly so guiding wasn't perfect all night. Will add more data next time we have clear skies. Everything was iced up after 2 nights outside in -4 deg C temps, but dew band heaters kept going. So did I by sitting indoors and watching it all on Teamviewer! I still have a little amp glow on the right from the 700D! Updated the HC and MC on the mount too, but still not totally satisfied with the way it is performing. Everything looks pretty tight but the Alt axis is still 'rocking' slightly in its locked position.

Wagtails at the lake near my home have one juvenile.
He is as big than mom and dad, and soooo noisy :)

For this one I was on a bridge and the wagtails in tree over the lake or under the bridge on the ground

The Truong Tien Bridge is 403 metres (1,322 feet) long gothic structure, with 6 arches of comb-shaped steel girders, each arch itself 67 metres (220 feet). The bridge's width is 6 metres (20 feet). Spanning over the Perfume River, the northern bridgehead is in Dong Ba ward with the southern bridgehead is in Phu Hoi ward in the city center of Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam.
Mal at Work
Here's Mal, one of the men volunteers at work at the Repair Café which we visited.
He showed me the merry-go-round he had repaired so that "the drummer drums and the lights flash on and off."
Looking at the back of the clock, originally from Jersey Pottery, he had decided to completely replace the mechanism and the battery casing.
I made him laugh when I told him that I am totally in awe of anyone who can take an item to pieces to solve a problem - and put it back together again.
