“What is the matter, Sky, you look concerned?” Asked Posh Bear
Sky sat down beside his friends clearly concerned about something.
“We may have a honey supply problem, Posh.” He said looking around at his friends.
“Why is that, Sky? I thought you were ordering extra this delivery because of the party for that birthday we are not talking about.” Said Bertie staring at Barnaby.
“Well, the man has changed his supplier; something to do with parachutes I think I heard him say. Anyway, I ordered all those jars of honey like you said, Posh, but they only delivered a few. What is more they sent all these parachutes, which, I hasten to report that I sent back.”
“Parachutes, what are they?” Asked Barnaby looking around.
“Well, if the shop doesn’t have what you ordered, Barnaby, they deliver these parachutes rather than send nothing at all. Sometimes they are fine, but what they sent us were no good at all.” Explained Sky.
“You mean substitutes, Sky, parachutes are large pieces of cloth that enable things to descend to the ground gently from up high.” Said Bertie.
“Right, well these parachutes descended from the air and landed right on our order and they are no good. I asked the driver what was in the jars and he said peanut butter, and as they ran out of that, they made the order up with some stuff called lemon curd. What is even more strange, the driver seemed in a state of shock as he told me what they had sent. Anyone would think that he had never spoken to a bear before.”
“Sounds disgusting, Sky, so pleased you sent it all back. As for the driver being in shock, I guess he was just disappointed he couldn’t deliver all our honey. I’m sure he speaks to bears every day. Well, back to the problem and we will have to persuade the man to go back to the place he was ordering from as they kept lots of honey especially for us.” Said Posh Bear.
“I don’t think he will, Posh, he was fed up with all the parachutes he was getting. We did get some honey but not enough for the birthday party we don’t talk about.” Explained Sky.
“Can’t you just order for us from the old supplier, Sky?” Asked Bertie.
“Difficult, Bertie. You see I wait for the man to do his order then I tack what we want on the end of it. I meet the driver at the front door and take our stuff and then send him along to the back door with the things for the man. When ordering, the man must use this piece of plastic before they will send the goods, it is very complicated with his talking thing sending a message and lots of numbers. Without all that, the store won’t deliver for I have tried before.” Explained Sky.
“I still say the best plan is to persuade the man to go back to where he used to buy the groceries from. That should not be too difficult.” Said Posh Bear.
“How do you think we can do that though, Posh Bear?” Asked Bertie.
“Simple, when Sky adds our items to the order, if Sky was to then add numbers by the things the man had on order so he received far too much, that should put him off this supplier.” Said Posh Bear.
“Do you think it will work, Posh?” Asked Barnaby.
“It always has in the past.” Said Posh Bear. “I just can’t think what gets in to hoomans at times.”
“I agree, Posh, imagine having to eat parachutes like those that were sent to us.” Said Barnaby.
“Yes, Barnaby, just imagine!”
The book that is open is called Bearing Up and is illustrated by Mike Johnson. The page says, “I’m not going to worry unless the animals start lining up two by two for the space shuttle.”
When asked what I see in him to take photographs in him, I said I loved the red scarf- it tells the story that winter is almost here.
On the topic of 'winter', he asked what we photographers find so attractive in it, and I knew he is talking about none other than Nayeem Bhai who used to visit this place quite often.
Bose Brothers, one of the earliest sweet shops of Chittagong is still renowned for its authentic taste.

At a college for the Deaf, Leger Way, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. Date unknown, circa 1987, give or take a year.
About the photograph.
Those candid photographs were taken with a Minolta X-700 35mm film SLR camera, and either a 135mm lens or 80-200mm zoom lens. The roll of film was Ilford, likely to be either FP4 or HP5, as those are the two black and white film that I ways use.
The photographs were taken from the window of the guest room at the top (third) floor of an accommodation building for deaf students who lives far away and stays at the college.
As deaf people communicate by sign language, which is a visual form of communications, there is no need to be within earshot of each other or to shout over long distance, like hearing people do. Thus a lot of deaf people can simply communicate to each other between outside and inside, across a room, or even across a playing field, as long as there is a line of sight.
This Deaf guy, came over to the building, simply stayed outside and chatted with other deaf students who were at a second floor window.
Here in the photographs, he is seen asking “Why?” in British Sign Language (BSL). I don’t remember if he just asked a single word question, or it was the start of a question like “Why do you…”
In BSL, the sign is done by a tapping the side of index finger to the front of the opposite shoulder, and kind of bounce it off your shoulder (as seen in the second photo).
The facial expression is often used to express the kind of mood. For example: A curiosity “Why do you ask?” or an angry “Why did you do that?”
The photographs were taken about slightly more than a second apart, just the length of time to manually wind on the film, as I did not have the motor drive at that time.
Why did I take those photos?
In 1985, in my last year at a deaf school, I decided that I wanted to attend college to study photography with the aim of becoming a working photographer. But the teacher explained to me that it is not something suited for me, because of my being deaf and having communications difficulties. I told my mother the same thing, but my mother and my family were even less supportive.
Today, it is easy to look back on this and recognise that it is a discrimination, pure and simple.
Despite my efforts to try to apply for a college course in photography, I ended up on a one year further education course at college, suited for school leavers unsure of careers. It was during that time, I redouble my efforts, and tried to get the kind of college course I wanted.
There were different courses available to me, at different colleges, including a deaf college in Doncaster, in South Yorkshire, which is approximately 130 miles away from where I live. Arrangements were made for me to visit the college and have an overnight stay at a guest room, so that the next day, I would have a formal look around and an interview.
I travelled by train to Doncaster, stayed at the guest house, and like any good photographer, I bought along my camera. I decided to do some documentary-like photography while I was visiting the college, and during the early evening, I saw this guy standing there, chatting with the others in the building, so I decided to take a candid shot.
I developed and printed my own photographs, it was only about a couple of years ago, that I decided to scan the prints.

#3 Real is Emotional
"Why does being real hurt so much?" asked Harper.
"I think humans feel the emotions of nature. It's kind of magical really. The willow weeps, but never sheds a tear, the hyena laughs, but never smiles and the dandelion carries hope yet knows of no tomorrow. Humans carry the weight of nature so nature can be beautiful."
"It is rather tiring Mr. Rabbit," announced Harper.
"That's what power naps are for."
I just realized I haven't posted any picture this year 2024 and my niece asked for a photo session and here we are.

I asked ChatGPT to write a caption for this photo from Sunday afternoon, and this is what it came up with:
"Fly me to the moon! 🚀✈️✨ United Airlines Flight 1844 took to the skies at 34,000 feet and 480 knots, soaring past the 30% illuminated Waxing Moon. A breathtaking moment captured over the Space Coast of Florida. #UnitedAirlines #Boeing737Max9 #Moonshot"

Sitemkar duvarlar...
Sessizlikte size yankılanan sesler karşılardı sizi...
"Bakmak ve görmek senin bu yollarda hayalini
Bana gülüşünü, sıcacık hasretini
Oysa şimdi yok sevdanın timsali...
Yar gitmiş, benden gideli..."
Acıyla tutunan bir söz duyarcasına mihnetle bir bakış şu sokağa...
Bir duyuş sessizliğin hakimiyetini bir bozmaya sebebiyet
..
Bakış ,bir görüş kör olan duygulara...
Bir anlatış dillendirmeye bir haber...
Yapboz olmuştu o an sevdanın külleri
Yürekten döküldü ya bir hüzün gülleri
Meçhule karıştı şimdi kalbin kavisleri
Göremez olmuştu aşkın gözleri...

“One day you will ask me which is more important? My life or yours? I will say mine and you will walk away not knowing that you are my life.” ~ Khalil Gibran
Recently my daughter told me she found a bookstore that sold old books and she wanted to take me there...priceless. We went a few days later and she found, buried among the stacks, Go Ask Alice. The author was Anonymous and that intrigued her enough to want to read it. I knew some things about that book but wanted her discover it for herself so said nothing. She devoured it in 2 days and after she finished it today said she thought it was really great. I then told her there are some people who think that it is a fiction written by an adult not the diary of a teen going through drug addiction. She said she feels it's definitely a teenager's words and it seems very real to her. That the book spoke to her and had an impact on her is really the important part. I left it at that.

Met this wonderful guy while walking round Manchester shooting street photography. We started chatting when he asked me about my camera. He told me about his rollercoaster life and how he had turned his life around. He told me he was on a mission to spread the love and to help others.
