A few people asked about my 'setup' for water drop shots. It's rather Heath Robinson, but this hopefully illustrates the basic method.
Camera on tripod.
One black roasting dish full of water.
A couple of foil birthday balloons lit with a halogen lamp to provide the colour.
100mm macro lens manually focussed on the water surface - I just dip a teaspoon into the water, focus on that and use that as an aiming point for landing the drops.
No flash used.
One teaspoon to dribble water from.
Burst mode to take a series of shots.
A wireless remote shutter release is handy, but not shown here!
Need to play about with angles to get the best reflections.
High ISO 800-1600 and manual exposure settings - most are f/2.8 at between 1/500th and 1/1000th second
Large bottle of Patience - about 1 in 10 are useable shots!
Have fun if you try this!!!
When asked what one word describes how living in a family with Type 1 Diabetes has touched his life, Ryan said "Invisible". He is one of three sons, and the only one not to have diabetes. His response is a very sad reminder that this impacts everyone, and not just those with the disease.
This is the first shot of my Diabetes...In One Word series that will document the feelings of kids impacted by this disease.
If love asks a question, do not deceive
For the truth is the answer, I only believe
If my heart should open, love do not fear
Or if my eyes in happiness shed a tear
Let the wind in my soul blow you away
And the sun in my heart brighten your day
If love and life I was asked to compare
Both of these with you I wish to share

NonViolent...this one's for you :)
This is Kevin. Well, Kevin's back anyway :)
I met him at my niece's graduation party. I asked him if I could take a pic of his back so I could use it for my anatomy class and he obliged. He said he was going to get the organs tattooed behind the bones, but he wants to quit smoking first so he can get pink lungs tattooed under those ribs
:)
About the picture! I had this shot framed. I knew what I was looking for. When I saw it in the viewfinder, I snapped and almost died! My flash didn't fire (This guy was standing at a keg under a big tarp) The ONLY thing that I did to this was brighten it up so that I could share it with everyone! This is the originial shot that I took. yes, I know, it's completely black!

Aşk Bir Antik Kenttir
Geçmişte kalan günlerden
Bir yığın hüzün kalır elimizde
Ve artarak korkunçlaşan yalnızlık
Ve yaşanamamış hayaller
Kırgındır gönül yaşlıdır
Aşk ise uzaklarda kaybolan
Antik bir kenttir artık
Ok! Asking for some help: I have two Switch heads and I need to get them bodies. Those three are my favourites but I'm not sure about resin match. The easier one to get would be the Littlemonica one (as I can use layaway...) and Sadol's is beautiful too.
But I'm not sure about the sqlab one as the neck seems smaller...
Any help would be wonderful!

Bizi yönetenlerin her devirde yaptıkları hatalara, aldanmışlıklara, aldatılmışlıklara, kibirlere, ihtiraslara rağmen Vatanım diyoruz.

Glenn (stranger 65)
He asked "have you heard me scream?" "No not, I had the wind in my back, then I cannot hear you". I had seen him busy in the distance: push-ups, legs up, running on the spot, and so on. "Well done" I told him. He was building up his condition because soon he will have a party and he would like to be fit. He is a boxing trainer and teaches you how to shout therapeutically. He himself shouts, all his old frustrations out. He would prefer to go to a quiet place like this: the geological monument "Castellum Fectio", on the site of a two thousand year old Roman army camp. "So, so you were a Jantje?" He asked that after I had told that I had spent my military service in his home town of Paramaribo. At that time he was already living in the Netherlands with his mother, so that we have no shared memories.
Taking a photo was no problem but I was not allowed to tell anything about the party he is going to organize. Thank you Glenn.

29th August 2018:
Izzy: "They did it again, they forgot my proper Birthday. That's twice in a row that it's happened. But, this year even Rufus didn't remember. I was three years old on the 25th, but at least they remembered eventually.
I was out in the garden this morning enjoying some sunshine and Mum got her picture making thing to take some photos of me. She and Dad liked this one the very best.
This afternoon the gardeners came round to cut the grass, but I don't like the machines so went and hid in my comfy place. When they'd finished and I felt safe again, I asked to go out and Mum put my lead on and out I went.
The silly gardener had moved the anchor for my lead and it meant I could climb up the garden gate. So I did, but I slipped and was hanging over the other side. Mum noticed pretty quickly thank goodness, as I was beginning to panic. She scrambled as fast as she could up the hill and telling me to stay calm pulled me up and over the gate to our side.
She said it was just so lucky that I wear a harness not just a collar or I might have strangled myself. I don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound nice. When Mum had got down the hill again (on her bottom - hehe), she moved my lead anchor back, so I can't climb up the gate again. Thanks Mum."
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
Julia asked yesterday if i would like to shoot some pictures. Its always great when a pretty girl wants to shoot. I had one idea i wanted to do with her for the longest time but it would of been messy and i wasn't in the best mood for a messy photoshoot. She asked me about sunset pictures and that sounded like a good idea. when i told her i would need her to be at my house by 4 so we could make it to the beach in time she said there was no way she could make it. She didn't end up showing up til 7 long long after the sun had set. I really didn't want to do an indoor portrait on a black ground again. While they are pretty interesting i feel i have done way to many of those lately and i wanted to shoot on location. Since it was pitch black outside my options were kinda limited. She wanted to do a cowgirl type of shot but needed a location. I remembered seeing a white fence with long weeds on a drive home from work one day. It was a freezing cold night and pitch black. my strobes did a pretty decent job but i rather shoot at dusk. either way this girl is gorgeous and just great to be around we didn't stop laughing all night.
strobist: sb-800 on the right of the camera elevated and pointed at an angle down on the subject with a shoot though umbrella. sb-600 on the left of the camera with bounce back umbrella since CLS was having trouble picking the signal up. triggered with nikon CLS in TTL mode.
In December I was asked to exhibit at Franklin Foto, a new community darkroom in St. Johns. I made this short video to show friends who don't live nearby.
Franklin Foto offers classes and darkroom time to people who want to learn film photography, so I chose images of the various ways I have made portraits of people over the last 50 years.
I recorded the music in the video in Richmond, Indiana in 2008, at the home of Carol Lou Woodward. Now in her 90's, Carol Lou is a weekly entertainer at Saigon Paris Bistro in Fort Myers, Florida.
