Even a further impression of my new series "dortmund at night". It belongs to the first picture "ardey's arch". To take a photo of this bridge was very difficult. I could not find any straight lines or symmetry.

The final ascend of 250 feet on a unforgivable terrain. We literally walked on a landslide and everything that we stepped on was moving and was not sure of our next step.
If one step misplaces and the rock skids way either the guy in front goes down or the guy behind goes down or at the worst both or more people goes down.

Here is another photograph from the ancient city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of the many ghats along the banks of the River Ganges. The American Heritage Dictionary defines 'ghat' as "A broad flight of stairs leading down to the bank of a river in India, used especially by bathers."
In this view we can reverse the definition and think of the ghat as leading up from the riverbank, with whatever symbolism you may care to attach to that.
I processed this photo with a combination of Color Efex Pro filters to achieve a mildly surreal and painterly effect.
Quito.- En rueda de prensa, efectuada en el ECU911 en Quito, el Segundo Mandatario anunció que los casos confirmados de COVID-19 ascendieron a 20. El último paciente reportado corresponde a un ecuatoriano que retornó al país desde New York (Estados Unidos) y que, al momento de su arribo, no presentó síntomas. Al momento, se encuentra hospitalizado y estable. “Se trata, nuevamente, de un caso importado”, expresó.
Por este caso, el cerco epidemiológico aumentó a 205. Allí constan dos personas que mantuvieron contacto con el último caso confirmado. Del resto de pacientes contagiados, cuatro continúan hospitalizados. Dos de estos se encuentran en estado crítico y el resto, se mantiene estable.
Actualmente, solo el Instituto Nacional de Investigación en Salud Pública (Inspi), en Guayaquil, puede efectuar las pruebas. Desde el lunes 16 de marzo, se sumará la sede en Quito de dicha institución. Y con el propósito de que más laboratorios puedan realizar los exámenes, se está trabajando con la Agencia Nacional de Regulación, Control y Vigilancia Sanitaria (Arcsa) para la respectiva certificación. “La detección temprana es importante. Por eso necesitamos que se den las certificaciones a los laboratorios, dado que es muy riesgoso que se den falsos negativos”, sostuvo el Segundo Mandatario.
De momento, para fortalecer la prevención, el titular del directorio del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS), Paúl Granda, dio a conocer que se han desplegado 80 brigadas de salud a escala nacional. Además, varios médicos atenderán a personas mayores a 65 años, directamente en sus domicilios. Este servicio, de momento, se dará solo en Quito, solicitándolo en la línea 140. Asimismo, más de 1.000 prestadores externos están listos para brindar atención a los afiliados y sus familias. También, esta institución dispone de ocho hospitales para atender a pacientes de coronavirus que requieran terapia intensiva.
Por otro lado, el Vicepresidente confirmó el fallecimiento de una ciudadana ecuatoriana en el norte de Italia, presuntamente a causa del COVID-19. La Cancillería se encuentra en contacto con las autoridades de ese país para determinar las acciones que correspondan. Precisamente, dado que la mayoría de casos se han confirmado en Europeo y Asia, se reiteró la vigencia del aislamiento preventivo obligatorio de 14 días para los viajeros que lleguen al país, provenientes de China (provincias de Hubei y Guandong), Italia, España, Francia, Alemania, Irán y Corea del Sur.
Para vigilar el cumplimiento de esta disposición, el ministro de Defensa, Oswaldo Jarrín, informó que todas las personas que deseen ingresar al Ecuador deben hacerlo pasando por los Centros Binacionales de Atención en Frontera (Cebaf), que cuenta con el contingente de las Fuerzas Armadas.
Precisamente, la expansión del coronavirus en el mundo y las medidas que diferentes naciones han adoptado al respecto, están incidiendo en los flujos de viajeros. En Ecuador, por ejemplo, la cifra de extranjeros que llegan al país se redujo en 38%, en Quito; y en 53%, en Guayaquil; con respecto a la semana anterior. Así precisó la ministra de Gobierno, María Paula Romo. Además, sostuvo que -en las últimas horas- se suspendieron 35 eventos y se han clausurado 16 establecimientos, por incumplir la prohibición de eventos masivos con un aforo superior a 250 personas.

East window depicting Christ's ascension, by William Pearce of Birmingham 1895.
St George's church lies in a quiet part of suburban Redditch, not far from the town centre but cut off from it since the building of the ring road. It was built in 1876-7 to the designs of Worcester architect Frederick Preedy.
The church is influenced by Early English Gothic and consists of a large nave, flanked by aisles, and a chancel but never possesed a tower, just a small bellcote over the east end of the nave. Inside there are details that were never finished, such as the uncarved nave capitals.
The most notable features of the interior are the four stained glass windows, principally the east window by W.Pearce and the excellent WWI memorial window by local artist Alfred Pike in the south aisle.
Sadly the church is to be closed following the final service on July 22nd 2012. An alternative use will then be sought and hopefully found in the coming months, but for the time being the future of this building hangs in the balance.

She thought I was taking a picture of the back of her dress. I got her to turn and look at me, and with a little off-camera flash to the left, "pop", a rich warm bride picture. I think it's beautiful.
