Inside a bastion at Fort Clinch...I just love touching the bricks, knowing they were
put in place in the early 1800's...if you stood very still...one could amost hear the canons and gunfire...
And your heart feels so wide
And your heart fills so strong
It was never a place
That you felt you belonged

A night at the opera at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. I love the interior space of this building.

“Ascend beyond the sickly atmosphere
to a higher plane, and purify yourself
by drinking as if it were ambrosia
the fire that fills and fuels Emptiness.
Free from the futile strivings and the cares
which dim existence to a realm of mist,
happy is he who wings an upward way
on mighty pinions to the fields of light;
whose thoughts like larks spontaneously rise
into the morning sky; whose flight, unchecked,
outreaches life and readily comprehends
the language of flowers and of all mute things."

A bunch of light-people, floating their way up the path towards the top of the hill at Gasowrks Park.
This shot is partially inspired by the work of Tokihiro Sato. In particular, I like the way he makes the light look "alive" in his shots. He does it in a much more abstract, and elegant, way than I did here -- I thought for my first try, I'd try something a little less abstract, and go with stick figures.
I should also thank BURИBLUE for this shot, which is where I first heard of Sato, and Tundrabuni for pointing me at that photo when she saw it, correctly estimating that I would find it cool.
Note: I do not consider this to be a great shot, but I think it's fun and interesting, and thought it was perhaps worth sharing -- especially, but not exclusively, for those who follow my work regularly.
OM2n first roll
I have seen this staircase for the last three years, every single day, but I never took a photo until I got the om2n.
Brush your hair and grow new seeds
the broken stems and the broken leaves
will no longer serve you but the earth

Inside a historic building in Bamberg. Our apartment is inside a Baroque building that has undergone restoration and changes at different times. The owner was showing us around. The lower floor dates from the 13th century, and the upper floors, which were added later, were built in the 17th century and altered in subsequent years.
