As the leaves rustle,
colors mingle and soon fade
-- a dance to the end.
In Georgia, Winter is a time where some leaves bear many colors while others have faded away. Something about them invites me to play. Shooting into the morning light on a new day through multiple exposure. Wishing everyone a great day ahead!
As our ship headed northeast from South Georgia, we were treated to one of our last sightings of icebergs and remnants from the world's once largest iceberg, A23a.
As I am 'away' from Flickr due to a very busy 'other life' at the present, I thought a winter sunset just to stay in touch and say hello to all my contacts would be fitting.
I will be back into photography later in the year and must say I am missing it and have probably lost my mojo :-(
As we had a few sunny moments this morning I went to the lake at Monrepos to look for goslings but didn't see any there. On my way home I decided to quickly stop at the river where I ran into a family of Egyptian geese with 8 goslings. Sadly by the time I arrived at the river the sun had disappeared behind dark clouds and it even started to rain. I may try to find them again on a day with better light because today it was really too dark for good photos.

Cellardyke - Skinfast Haven, now known as Cellardyke Harbour, one of the historic jewels on the East Neuk of Fife. Steeped in history and dating back to 1544, once was a bustling fishing village however the harbour is little used nowadays.

I recently visited APCA, an NGO for cats and farm animals, located in Uruguay in the department of Canelones.
APCA arises from the need to generate a safe place for the rehoming of colonies of feral, endangered or abused cats. They currently also have farm animals that have been rescued from human abuse.
The work they do is exceptional.
Among the animals rescued there are cases of cruelty, accidents, paralysis, cancer and other diseases, as well as cats that have been abandoned.
In viable cases, they are available for responsible adoption.

As you can tell, this small village is very popular with tourists. It is one of the most picturesque places in the Cotswolds with lots of attractions designed to take your £££s off you!
As we reached the bottom of the Navajo Loop trail at Bryce Canyon, we saw this lonely Douglas fir tree sticking straight up between the rocks.
The Navajo Loop Trail drops down into the amphitheater and passes through "Wall Street," a narrow switchbacked slot between sheer cliffs, with towering Douglas fir trees growing along the trail. The Navajo Loop Trail extends 1.3 miles, starting and ending at Sunset Point, with an ascent/descent of 550 feet.
As with every Boston trip, a visit to Acorn street is a must. I had already several opportunities, but no opportunity yet during blue hour….Even a little late for that, I took this capture close to No.6, which surely missed a parcel delivery...existing on the Bottom of the street I saw this plate on the wall, that taking Pictures not allowed without permission….did not see that before...
When I first moved here in 2013, there was a HUGE invasive Camphor tree in the front yard, ripping up the sidewalk and my driveway. It had a big, dead, hollowed out limb right so I could see it perfectly from my porch. In that dead limb is where I first met the Great-crested Flycatcher. I love so many birds, but I know in my heart, this species is my favorite.
They built a nest and raised the babies right in that limb, and I got to see for the first time such a wonderful display of nesting birds. I took hundreds of photos.
I had to have it cut down and after that they went elsewhere. This past year, I heard them way across the street. I learned how to do one of their calls, and I actually called them and they came to me. To my backyard and I took a few lousy shots for posterity. It was getting ready to storm. So I just spent forever editing this one and only keeper so that I could post it.
Do you believe it? This one came way over here to see if Miss Nancy was the one who was calling them! Thank You, Jesus.

As the title says, this is the main Church in the centre of town reflected in a puddle on the tarmac on the concourse in front of it. The Image has been flipped 180 degrees.
During the winter months we only have a few Goldfinches visiting our yard. This year they seem to prefer the Hot Meats, pepper treated sunflower meats, over the thistle socks we put out.
When a recent spell of severely cold weather hit our area I put out a brand new thistle sock for them and they completely ignored it when previous winters they could not get enough of it.
Guess as long as they're coming and finding plenty to eat there's no reason to complain.

your head layers, alpha clipping free.

As Cleo tends to wait for the snacks to fly right into her mouth, no birds were hurt during or after this photo shoot. She still considers herself as a great huntress, though, who could catch every bird she wants if she thought it was worth the effort (what - of course - will never happen).
