Built 1930 and registered G-ABBB as a company demonstrator. It was also used for some development work, and was eventually grounded in 1936. In 1938 it was gifted to the Science Museum and in early 1939 went on display at South Kensington, London. During WW2 was removed from display and stored. In the 1950s it was at Pinewood Studios for the making for "Reach For the Sky". Later preserved with Shuttleworth Trust at Old Warden. Crashed at Farnborough 13-Sep-64. Parts salvaged and stored by RAF Museum. In 1993 after more parts salvaged it was rebuilt to static condition using some other unidentified parts. Completed rebuild on display at Hendon from 1999.
As I'm in the UK, guess this should represent the union jack, but could also be the tricolour of France, or the stars and stripes (or any number of other red, white and blue flags!).
Ps - in my not small collection of owls, I easily found white ones and blue ones, but did struggle to find red!

Same problem that I’ve had on previous low light pictures. Some devices (like my low cost Samsung galaxy) display details in black zones, like brush strokes that are not supposed to be seen. I still haven’t found a solution yet, so any help would be welcome !

Dos AS-2002 se encuentran siendo inspeccionados en los pozos del taller de mantención de los Talleres de Puente Alto del Metro de Santiago.
Todos los AS-2002 de la línea 4 visitan regularmente los pozos del taller de mantención. En ellos se revisan visualmente los equipos y se realizan algunas pruebas para comprobar que no existan fallas. Además se revisan y limpian los equipos eléctricos sometidos al mayor desgaste. Entre ellos están los contactos que toman la energía de los rieles laterales y los rodamientos de los los bogies de tracción, los cuales debido al flujo de corriente eléctrica sufren un desgaste mayor que el resto.

Two AS-2002 are being inspected in the maintenance area wells at the Puente Alto Workshops of the Santiago Metro.
All AS-2002 of line 4 regularly visit the wells of the maintenance area. There, the units are visually checked and some tests are carried out to verify that there are no failures. Besides that, the electrical equipment subjected to the greatest wear is checked and cleaned. Among them are the contact shoes that are used to take energy of the third rail and the traction bogie bearings, which due to the flow of electric current suffer greater wear than the rest.

How often have we, as photographers, viewed a scene and attempted to duplicate it in our camera? More times than I care to remember. This scene of Larch Fir in bright sunlight surrounded by deep shadows is one of those scenes. In my minds-eye I see this scene as nature intended me to see it with all the degrees of light and shadows intertwining to form a beautiful image at that precise moment in time.
As an artist, who uses paint as their medium, they can mix their paints until they have just the right colors to express the feeling they saw in their minds eye. But, as photographers we must rely on our ability to use the correct exposures and then with our post processing software attempt too duplicate what we viewed in our minds eye. Post processing software has come a long ways since I first began my journey in digital photography and post processing and my knowledge continues to grow, but I often become discouraged when an image does not match what I feel I saw when I took the image.
So very often I feel I failed to convey that same feeling to the viewer and all my efforts are in vain.

As I let the dogs out in the backyard and turned on the light which shines on the tree, I saw the moon peeking through the trees. This was edited with Prisma to bring out the details.

As part of the 2018 Carnival Of Flowers, Queensland Rail's 1620 hauled several shuttles to Spring Bluff to show of the historic site of Spring Bluff and all the various Gardens.

As the sun descended behind a mountain, the last ray of light caught this lone daffodil. Bellecombe, Jura, France.
As the weather's slowly creeping towards freezing in London, I went and dug up a colorful note for the day
As if they were being affected by static electricity, the beautiful white wispy plumes of the great white egret when engaged in courtship behavior of its future mate.
Spring is by far my favorite time to photograph these birds as they are nest building, courting, mating, and raising their young.
Nature is amazing :-)

As we weren't able to see Matt and Sophie on Christmas Day, we made a video call the them to watch them open some of their presents. You can see one JJ gave to them - the card game Top Trumps Motorway Service Stations!!
Sonnenberg Gardens, also known as Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park, Canandaigua, New York, USA, at the North end of Canandaigua Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The house and gardens are open to the public every day, May through October.
The property was once the summer home of Frederick Ferris Thompson, a prominent banker in New York City, and his wife Mary Clark Thompson, whose father, Myron Holley Clark, was Governor of New York State in 1855. The Clark family was from Canandaigua, NY. Mr. & Mrs. Thompson's main home was in NYC in a large townhouse on Madison Avenue. The Thompsons purchased the Sonnenberg property in 1863, keeping the name, Sonnenberg (which means "sunny hill" in German). In 1887, they replaced the original farmhouse with a forty-room Queen Anne style mansion. The property also had a 100-acre farm to the east. Sonnenberg's gardens were designed and built between 1902–1919, and originally consisted of nine gardens in a variety of styles.
