as a Battlefield fan, i'm really hyped for Battlefield 1. Thought i'd do a little figure thing after watching how awesome the gameplay looked. Enjoy! :)
Piazza San Marco (often known in English as St Mark's Square), is the principal public square of Venice, Italy, where it is generally known just as "the Piazza". The Piazza together with its extension Piazzetta to the lagoon to the southwest form the social, religious and political centre of Venice for the past several centuries and are commonly considered together.
A remark usually attributed to Napoleon calls the Piazza San Marco "the drawing room of Europe". (The attribution to Napoleon is unproven). It is one of the few great urban spaces in Europe where human voices prevail over the sounds of motorized traffic.
The church is commonly called St Mark's Basilica,( in the name of Lord's Apostle St. Mark, patron saint of the city whose relics are preserved int he church )but there are aspects of it which are so much a part of the Piazza, including the whole of the west facade with its great arches and marble decoration, the Romanesque carvings round the central doorway and, above all, the four horses which preside over the whole piazza and are such potent symbols of the pride and power of Venice that the Genoese in 1379 said that there could be no peace between the two cities until these horses had been bridled and, four hundred years later, Napoleon, after he had conquered Venice, had them taken down and shipped to Paris.
Most of the present structures were built during 12th and 13th centuries, although a church was there in the same place from at least 6th century. The church is rich with engravings, sculptures and paintings inside by renowned artists and the outside i decorated by marble columns and picturesque engravings on the facades. It is such a historic beauty of architecture and art blended so ornately..
The square also was very important in the political, social and art history of Venice and so of entire Europe.

As sunriise wasn't as expected I went to Woolley edge for sunset. Hardly a cloud in the sky though and very still. Just right for ballooning
As I am still up doing last minute xmas prep, I thought I'd put this in tonight as I may not get the chance tomorrow. This is a wee reindeer ornament with the fairy lights in the background and as its Christamas I gave it a little extra sparkle in Fotor. HMM : ) Night Night x
As there was a sudden drop in temperature recently it seemed to me that few butterflies were flying. But to my joy I could see them today while walking around the pond. This is yamatoshijimi(Zizeeria maha argia ) if I am not mistaken. I will miss the butterflies when I can see them no longer. Best seen in large.

As I sat on the reef at Pillar Point, Half Moon Bay I was 'entertained' by the Red-breasted Merganser as it casually swam by me without looking in my direction as I clicked away!
As I mentioned earlier, it has been a relatively quiet weekend here at Lyndon Towers, after all the New Year hi jinks last weekend.
Lady Daphne Craig-Talbot and Lady Lucasta Gorringe have now departed - after a fun little party last night with our new Sodality Pledges and some very productive policy discussions this morning. Our most important decision is that we have decided to open the Sodality to membership via invitation - as long as the invitations are unanimously agreed by the steering committee (Lady Daphne, Lady Lucasta, our sleeping partner Lord Belcher, and myself).
This initiative should solve one or two slightly ticklish membership problems, such as the failure of Lady Henrietta Stones-Bacon to qualify for membership, despite having made three attempts. It will also allow us to fast-track membership for exciting prospects such as Lady Cora Moss, rather than waiting for a formal qualification event to roll around. We are very keen to expand our membership to 99 ladies by the end of 2017, and this does mean a little streamlining of our entry procedures...
As expected, Dr Janis Rawdyke's piece about the Sodality in the Sunday Supplements has caused a terrific buzz amongst the chattering classes here in the UK. We are now the name on the lips of every TV producer in the land. However, we are all definitely agreed that a Reality TV show starring the Ladies of the Sodality is not what we are all about!!! Our Sisterhood needs a little discretion and privacy to function properly...
As mentioned earlier, I am off to a local am-dram performance this evening with hubby, to see a production of 'The Constant Wife'. My hubby was extremely tickled when we were invited to see this particular play! Of course, I have promised to cuck hubby directly after the performance - which has thrilled and delighted him even more !!

As I walked home after midnight on the day on my arrival in Barcelona, this man was sitting on my way. I offered him some money and asked permission to photograph him, as he gave. It was 4 degrees and that night in my warm bed I was thinking about the coldness of sitting all night outside. This photo has some simalarity with the previous one, although the circumstances of this both man are so totally different.
As the sun sets on an eventful day trackside in the Shenandoah Valley, NS 776 rolls through the rural countryside of Buchanan, VA with a pair of AC44C6Ms bringing up the rear in DPU mode.

(118/366) The Wood Anemones in Island Wood are passed their best already & it's been so cold I don't even feel as though Spring has started. It was barely 7C yesterday & hardly any insects about.
As I sit behind a sago palm in the front yard for camoflage,with my Canon 50D and 400mm lens. This baby Hummingbird was in our front yard with adults nearby, feeding from one Aloe Vera flower to another. It spotted me behind the palm and came very close to investigate, amazingly I was able to squeeze two awesome images of this extraordinary capture of this "Curious Hummingbird" as it flew away. Hope Y'all like it, Lol.

As I walked through the shady woods, I was startled by a Sandhill Crane. Evidently he was startled as well, and he began trumpeting something that has been described as "Gar-oo-oo" or as "kukukuroo". I'm not sure what he was trumpeting, but I can tell you it was very LOUD. A crane's call reportedly can be heard for a mile...I believe it.
Sandhill Cranes, almost 4 feet tall (about 120cm), migrate to warmer Southern states in the autumn.

From objects as small as Newton's apple to those as large as a galaxy, no physical body is free from the stern bonds of gravity, as evidenced in this stunning picture captured by the Wide Field Camera 3 and Advanced Camera for Surveys onboard the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.
Here we see two spiral galaxies engaged in a cosmic tug-of-war — but in this contest, there will be no winner. The structures of both objects are slowly distorted to resemble new forms, and in some cases, merge together to form new, super galaxies. This particular fate is similar to that of the Milky Way Galaxy, when it will ultimately merge with our closest galactic partner, the Andromeda Galaxy. There is no need to panic however, as this process takes several hundreds of millions of years.
Not all interacting galaxies result in mergers though. The merger is dependent on the mass of each galaxy, as well as the relative velocities of each body. It is quite possible that the event pictured here, romantically named 2MASX J06094582-2140234, will avoid a merger event altogether, and will merely distort the arms of each spiral without colliding — the cosmic equivalent of a hair ruffling!
These galactic interactions also trigger new regions of star formation in the galaxies involved, causing them to be extremely luminous in the infrared part of the spectrum. For this reason, these types of galaxies are referred to as LIRGs, or Luminous Infrared Galaxies. This image was taken as part of as part of a Hubble survey of the central regions of LIRGs in the local Universe, which also used the Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) instrument.

As I pottered around this month’s eBento event, I came across this fabulous face tattoo by Alge’s Designs. The rest is history as I rumaged around in my inventory and was able to put together Electra! The headwear is from Zibska, the suit from BETRAYAL and the shoes from Azoury.
