A small collection of some of my favourites from the 2024 summer season. Despite the awful conditions for much of the time some real treats were captured and photographed

As the sun came up a barn owl swooped across the fields. Flying really fast compared to other hunting owls I've watched.

Wet, dull and grey; but not cold! Enthusiasm for being out on Thursday less than zero; motivation for being out weather forecast for Friday even worse.

A Flickr friend of mine recently encouraged me to try watercolour painting. But when you’ve got a scene like this at your fingertips….. well I doubt I could come anywhere near it! I’m certainly no expert on Turner, but this scene might have been like something of his (if he could have seen it).

Just when I thought Swanage had revealed all its secrets, on a quick walk with the dog before heading home I find this scene that could be a Victorian print.
