A WW2 pillbox stands on the Fobbing Marshes, near to the abandoned Oozedam Farm, Fobbing, Essex UK.
I have previously been unable to clearly photograph this pillbox as it has been used variously as a dumping ground or for equipment storage, apart from being overgrown with weeds. Today I found the ground has been cleared, for what purpose I can only speculate.
(SOOC shot)
An edible and commonly cultivated mushroom. A lucky find here in the woods and a spontaneous shot.

Stepping out of the shower and creating my 900th upload to Flickr. Thanks friends for sticking with me so far, it’s been a fun ride.

Not caring to precisely identify this rose colour I'm going for Fizzy Pink. Who remembers packets of candy you put on your tongue so they fizzed and popped...?

A sensible morning shot given the warm weather currently here in the UK. Raw File into Affinity Photo for a light touch and 10:8 crop.
Our garden, June 2024.
A female Scarlet Robin came and perched on her colour-coordinated rock and matching background. It was worth waiting for on a cold overcast morning on Mount Moliagul!
An old one discovered in my archive. And I don’t really have an archive (not one of forgotten gems), but this one escaped me in 2022. Attempts to rescue a hideous Colour Balance ended with me just applying Apple’s simple Warm Filter, which I rather like occasionally. This group of tanks has now gone as of December 2024, replaced by something shiny.
OIKOS Storage Facility, Canvey Island, Essex UK
I have learned from knowledgeable Facebook groups that this is an inchworm - the larva of a Geometridae moth. They are numerous just now on our Michaelmas daisies.
Rutting season in Epping Forest - bucks very active this morning but always a struggle to get images between the trees and in such low light.
Here's one from my long drive and ferry to the Isle of Harris. This was sunset at the beautiful Borve beach looking towards Taransay.
