Couldn’t resist a few shots at the Calatrava building in Oviedo, a rather neglected and under-utilised example of his work. Derided by the local residence, this really felt like a white elephant in every sense of the expression, albeit a beautiful one! Footfall was pretty minimal aside from the odd dog walker and so I just waited and hoped, as was the case, that one past the little light Apex to provide the human element.

There was a woman and her husband/boyfriend that Paul (D2--PAUL) and I met while on the Black Point Wildlife Drive of Merritt Island NWR. She said that she lived in Florida for many years and had never seen an alligator. That seemed impossible. Alligators are literally everywhere there is water in Florida. They are an apex predator with few enemies, except humans, ( and lately huge pythons in the Everglades that are not native to the US).
This picture was taken not 200 yards (about 183 m) from the young couple. She had not seen it. I wonder if the Bud Lite cans that they drank from had anything to do with that?
After over half year of Chengdu operations, N863GT visited Hong Kong again as 5Y8229/8230.
Named Empower, N863GT is the final 747 manufactured and painted into Apex Logistics and Atlas Air hybrid livery.
We just returned from 10 days on an icebreaker, the Origo, leaving Longyearbyen in the Svalbard Archipelago, Norway. It took us 2 days cruising to reach the ice. Fortunately, there we saw 4 polar bears--a female with 3 cubs, which is unusual. During the trip we saw a total of 12 polar bears, 5 of which were in photo distance. It was quite an experience to have respectful encounters with a mammal this large and realize that I was not the top of the food chain. This shot was taken from the Origo, others to come, from a zodiac. I want to thank Fllickr friends Ann Silvestre, and Mario Nonaka, for valuable information that helped us prepare for this amazing Arctic photo expedition.

I decided to freshen up my photosteam by revisiting the thousands of discarded pics I have taken.
Whilst this shot isn't great, I realised by collection of wild peregrine shots, could be similarly described.
