I'm a bit worn from my trip to the zoo today. The walking was hard on my back and hip. Just falling apart at the seams! It was a wonderful day there in spite of my physical problems. I once again have to get some input on whether this is too bright or not. Thanks everyone for everything and being such great friends!
I fear that my country is being ripped apart and fading away. It's time for young people to step up and bring back kindness and common decency.

Beauty resides in imperfection & chaos is a law of nature. This Hellebore gains distinction from aging. When my life seems like a whirl of chaos, comfort & serenity can be found in my garden.

The full moon greets some various navy plane parts at a decommissioned WWII airfield in Central California. At about 1:15 am, I thought I'd create a couple of quick photographs before heading out. I was there for 90 minutes. So much for quick getaways. Fantastic creative evening, though. Light from full moon and handheld ProtoMachines LED2 flashlight during the exposure. Feel free to share.

The top of a dracaena draco in the Royal Botanic Gardens of Sydney. The branches are muscly and bare apart from the greenery at the tips.
Awesomely, when the bark or leaves are cut they secrete a reddish resin, one of several sources of substances known as dragon's blood.
As the bird sits on top of the rock in this image, it has a birds eye view of the Cuillin mountains from the beach at Elgol. This for me was the highlight of my trip to Skye. The view was stunning with so much to take in. The Cuillins seemed like the terrain from Lord of the Rings - it was simply amazing. apart from being the only day out of six that we had sun.

Apart from the now famous "two kids on a bicycle" by the Lithuanian street artist Ernest Zacharevic, these are perhaps his next two most popular works in Georgetown, Penang - "the boy walking his dinosaur pet" and "the boy on a motorbike", both side by side and may also be seen as a whole.
"COVID-19" still undermines many people. Keep your distance from people as a self-defense measure. It's not the distance of the mind.
Hidden behind such bright eyes
no-one can see the pain.
Hidden behind smiles
and a joyful mask,
coming across as sane.
When deep down a person cries,
hidden from the world.
Darkness fills their head
and sorrow fills their heart.
Look closely at this person
for they are falling apart.
140 years separate the two railway designs in this photograph. Built in 1880 to a design dating from 1872, Terrier 2678 chugs down the demonstration line at Didcot. The Great Western Class 800 unit passing on the main line first entered service in 2014.
This was the final day that the Terrier worked at Didcot during its visit from its home at the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

Apart from the beautiful seafront itself, I would imagine that Fortfield Terrace is Sidmouth's most distinguished road. One side has this beautiful Grade II*-listed terrace of Georgian houses dating from the last decade of the 18th century, part of which is shown here. This overlooks tennis courts and gardens on the other side of the road. The architect was Michael Novosielski, who was commissioned in 1790 to design the terrace by Thomas Jenkins from Honiton who acquired the Manor of Sidmouth in 1787. Novosielski, who was born in Rome, died in 1795 before the project was completed.
More than a year ago, I had set my mind on creating a massive MOC that some of you may have actually seen in real life. 'The City of Andarstrœm' was on display at Bricking Bavaria 2022 but never made it to a greater audience as I was not satisfied with the outcome. It was rushed. It was too much. It just wasn't what I had in mind.
For the past few months, I spent every spare minute life has to offer to break the scene apart and reinterprete it all. The outcome are four individual glimpses at what could be a fictional Rivendell-inspired city.
Hope you enjoy and take some time to make up stories for these scenes! Feel free to get carried away in the comments!
I must thank Marcel for giving such a great companion in the process and seeing the little details I would always miss. Love also goes to Rolli for being so supportive, excited and inspiring. You guys are the best!
Good morning, I've had my eye on this shot for a while. Dawn, low tide at Whitburn, between the steels looking towards the poles. A simple image. The poles are to mark the channel for the fishing boats to safely get to sea at low tide.

I have more macro shots than field shots from Saturday's (very) early-morning trip to the Woodburn tulip festival. Not only did I shoot numerous pictures with my new Lensbaby macro kit (10x and 4x rings that can be stacked--heaven on earth), I shot off two rolls of film with my Pentax and 10x macro ring. What fun. It's like a whole quiet, intimate world--the secret life of tulips and dewdrops.
This is one of my favorites from the Lensbaby (will be waiting a bit on the film of course). I'm very excited by the world of small. So much rich luxury of diamonds and silk sitting gently on the tulip petals. I'm really, really happy with the quality of the Lensbaby in general.
And may I say how wonderful our PDX Flickr group is? I love you guys. I had loads of fun on Saturday.

Apart from my Wife, two daughters, my beloved Labrador (featured in my photo stream) and Family here are two items that I am passionate about. Photography and UK Railways. This weeks composite image was easy to create.
Three images two photo stacked for the camera and one stock photo for the train.
I hope I have done myself justice.
