First day of Autumn here in Sydney my fine flickr friends and I'm up at the right time, in great time in fact - so have time to check out Bondi - superflat, no clouds - drove to Tamarama - same, drove to Bronte - same so on I went over the Bondi border and in to foreign territory Coogee . Beautiful morning, lovely sunrise - however nothing too special going on down there apart from a fellow Irishman down the beach sitting next to me. He was still drunk from the night before telling me that we were on the right side of the beach and that we would end up millionaires where as everyone else on the other side of the beach would end up in Ikea. I, being Irish too, agreed with his wise beer sodden words however did not get the money shot whilst I was down there.

On the way home, stopped to get a paper and there he was crossing the road in the beautiful light on Bondi Road. I let him go, did not have the heart to tell him there was no surf down at Bondi and finally got my money shot .

Been super busy over the last few days with work and a wedding(not mine rest assured ;))) so bear with me whilst I catch up. Off now to check to my bank account to see if the millions have arrived yet ;)

Happy Last Day of Spring! That means Autumn is right around the corner! Can't wait!

Really thought about focus stacking this one, but ended up liking the slightly out of focus edges of the foreground because they add a little more uneasiness to the image.

PARROQUIA DE SANTA CRUZ y SOLEDAD

When I was a young kid, my Mum used to take us to see her great Aunt who lived in Terrace Street, New Farm, Brisbane. She ran a "reputable" men's boarding house apart from the fly encrusted fly paper that used to hang above what seemed to be a stew constantly bubbling on the stove!

To get there, we would catch a steam train to Brunswick Street station (now rightfully named Fortitude Valley after the suburb in which it is located) then catch a New Farm tram (there were two destinations) and hop off in Brunswick Street near where her street intersected. The walk to the house was probably longer than the tram ride.

It is likely that we would have ridden in one of Brisbane's drop centre (old), FM (medium) or FM Phoenix (youngest) trams in which this shot is taken, actually no. 554 preserved at the Brisbane Tramway Museum Society.

The Brisbane tramway system had its last day on Sunday 13 April 1969.

* Those people old enough who hail from Brisbane will know that the colloquialism "Two to the Valley" was a two fingered salute, not unlike the V salute often seen being made by Winston Churchill, but in our case the fingers were reversed and not meant as a polite gesture! These days that salute has been replaced by one finger or physical assaults and road rage, we must have been politer back then!

It's a scary time that we are living in right now. None of us saw this coming and all of us are doing the best that we can. I am thinking about all of you and hoping you all stay safe.

A lone, unused barn sits high apart from other currently used buildings on this farm site. I have always thought farmers were a "set-apart" people, often laboring long and hard without much recognition in life and yet in their labor raise solid families and help feed millions of their countrymen.

Apart from swan lake (Lame) I couldn't think of anything to call this. So A few words of what it felt like at the time will have to do. Plus it's to early to be thinking :-)

Last week the El Galeon Andalusia from Spain arrived in the Savannah Harbor..how strange to see such a magnificent replica from the 16th century in the same harbor with the modern tankers and also a Steam ship replica...wishing one and all the very best of the week..
