The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa (alternatively Saint Teresa in Ecstasy or Transverberation of Saint Teresa) is the central sculptural group in white marble set in an elevated aedicule in the Cornaro Chapel, Santa Maria della Vittoria, Rome. It was designed and completed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the leading sculptor of his day, who also designed the setting of the Chapel in marble, stucco and paint. It is generally considered to be one of the sculptural masterpieces of the High Roman Baroque.

WHAT IS LOST... WILL BE FOUND.
In this stunning follow-up to the global phenomenon The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown demonstrates once again why he is the world's most popular thriller writer. THE LOST SYMBOL is a masterstroke of storytelling - a deadly race to real-world labyrinth of codes, secrets, and unseen truths... all under the watchful eye of Brown's most terriying villain to date. Set wihtin the hidden chambers, tunnels, and temples of Washington, D.C., THE LOST SYMBOL accelerates through a startling landscape toward an unthinkable finale.
As the story opens, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned unexpectedly to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol Building. Within minutes of his arrival, however, the night takes a bizzare turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. Langdon recognizes the object as an ancient invitation...one meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of esoteric wisdom.
When Langdon's beloved mentor, Peter Solomon - a prominent Mason and philanthropist - is brutally kidnapped, Langdon realizes his only hope of saving Peter is to accept this mystical invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon is instantly plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations - all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single inconceivable truth.
- Dan Brown
As the world discovered in The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, Dan Brown's novels are brilliant tapestries of veiled histories, arcane symbols, and enigmatic codes. In this new novel, he again challenges readers with an intelligent lightning-paced story that offers surprises at every turn. THE LOST SYMBOL is exactly what Brown's fans have been waiting for...his most thrilling novel yet.

Castel Sant' Angelo was originally built as the mausoleum for the Emperor Hadrian (and for all subsequent emperors for the next 100 years). When the Pope returned from Avignon, it was converted into a Papal fortress. The sculptures on Ponte Sant' Angelo are by Bernini. The castle plays a key part in the Tom Hanks movie, "Angels and Demons."

Day 19 of 365 (Year Two)
I picked up Angels and Demons the other day. I enjoyed The Da Vinci Code when I read it and I've been told this one is better. I was psyched about sitting down and getting started. Unfortunately Darth Maul kept getting the way. Apparently he thought it was a self-help dating book and he was hoping it might help him score some points with Princess Leia. He was rather disappointed when I told him what it was really about.
I started two days ago with a random Star Wars themed shot. It is starting to look like I have a theme for the week!
AES+F works are not only inspired by the mysticism of the Apocalypse, they are also influenced by the atmosphere and design of computer games. Manmy of these games portray a virtual end-of-times world filled with hybrid creatures that can evoke a totally new experience of reality. Source: Deh Haag Sculputres 2013
I have to go back some day in the blue hour and preferably with some fog :-)

Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.

The Piazza lies inside the northern gate in the Aurelian Walls, once the Porta Flaminia of ancient Rome, and now called Porta del Popolo. This was the starting point of the Via Flaminia, the road to Ariminum (modern Rimini) and the most important route to the north. At the same time, before the age of railroads, it was the traveller's first view of Rome upon arrival. For centuries, the Piazza del Popolo was a place for public executions, the last of which took place in 1826.
The entrance of the Tridente from Piazza del Popolo, defined by the "twin" churches of Santa Maria in Montesanto (left, built 1662-75) and Santa Maria dei Miracoli (right, built 1675-79). The Via del Corso exits between the two churches.
An Egyptian obelisk of Ramesses II from Heliopolis stands in the centre of the Rome's Piazza Del Popolo - as read in Dan Browns "angels & demons".
Tom Hanks spoke during the Sony Keynote at CES Thursday, January 8. He appeared with Sony Chairman/CEO Sir Howard Stringer and promoted his film Angels and Demons. Hanks was very impressive and made fun of the fact that there were 11 teleprompters on stage.
The Pantheon - "Temple of all the gods"
It is building in Rome which was originally built as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome, and rebuilt circa 125 AD during Hadrian's reign. It is the best preserved of all Roman buildings, and perhaps the best preserved building of its age in the world. Truly mind boggling when you think that this building was there when the history was made. If it only could talk..
Angels & Demons is a 2009 film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel of the same name, released on May 15, 2009. It is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code (2006), another Brown film adaptation, although the novel Angels & Demons was published and takes place before the novel The Da Vinci Code. Filming took place in Rome and the Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. Tom Hanks reprises the lead role of Robert Langdon, while director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman also returned.
